Mac Question - Image Viewers.

Ok.. I am looking for a program like acdsee or compupic for the mac.

Normally a model comes over.. I shoot 3 to 5 sets of her.. and Have it in a folder with subfolder.

07-29-2008
- black and white pics
--- raw
--- jpgs
- blue lace teddy
--- raw
--- jpgs
- camel toe shorts
--- raw
--- jpgs

I have tryed, iphoto, aperture, and a few others. The main problem with a lot of those is they are gallery based not folder based. Like I can have sub-galleries ( i don't think anyways)

the program that comes closes is

bridge, but I hate bridge because when I double click on an image it opens it in photoshop instead of previewing it.

Also graphic converter is kinda of close also..

any suggestions?

Please??

Yea.. but maybe you are not understanding what I am saying..

Ok.. the finder doesn't work because the icons are too small.. even if I got to preference and make them larger.. you really can't see any detail.

or if I use quickview.. and select a lot of pics.. then look at them in thumbnail mode.. I can't delete them ( which really sucks because I love doing it that way)

Well in coverflow.. or whatever it is called.. it only shows one pic at a time.. So I can see if the next pic or the pic before it is better or worst..

bridge.. like I said.. is almost perfect.. I can seen pics in front and behind. .I can delete and stuff like that.. however.. I just can't tell bridge to open only with preview.... So I am always opening an image in photoshop just to see if there is hair in her face.. or so something else wrong..

Thanks for the help so far..

I got it..

ok..

from the finder..

if I have a directory of images.

I would select all..

then click on the (quick look) the little eye ball..

then click on thumbnail view.. and it would give my a semi-transpant screen.. with a lot of my thumbs.. ( i couldn't delete anything there.)

and I thought that was the same as preview..

HOWEVER.. it is not..

if I go to the same folder, select all.. then open with Preview..

I get this

it is not the greatest.. but it works..

A good one that might work for you is Iview Multimedia now called Microsoft Expression as they sold out to MS. A trial version is available.
You'll need to use Safari to watch th demos.

Yea.. i guess they made an ACDSEE for mac in like verison one..

but yea.. so much of my basic work flow is ACDSEE..

I use to pre-sort and pre-scrub.. my raw images.( before I convert them to jpg)
I use it to rename stuff. ( pics and folders)
I use it to do a lot of basic stuff.. that photoshop and bridge can do but take too long to do.
