Discuss what's fucking going on, and which programs are best and worst. One-time "program" announcements from "established" webmasters are allowed. |

So much x-sale and cross sale drama lately...
Does this really surprise anyone?
Large programs are making moves and developing their own traffic networks a'la Brazzerz... is this the end of the current affiliate model in the works? most predictions I hear give it another 18 months- 2 years....if you are not a whale....you are out. PPC is pretty much out of the question nowadays..except for the occasional jewel What do you think the evolution of the affiliate is moving towards? more affiliate owned tubes? inquiring minds want to know |

Affiliates that are good at SEO will always be around, same goes for those with large sites like freeones etc. The climate is getting harder for small affiliates and newbies though. More affiliate owned tubesites are popping up every day, I'm not so sure that is going to be the solution though.

i've been seeing it lately, just about EVERY big sponsor, medium, and even quite a few small sponsors are doing disgusting amounts of pre-checked cross sells far below the payment button

Affiliate "Whales" are most often now other businesses and it's usually tit for tat on that. As far as piggybacking sales and cross promoting every industry does it, not just adult. Magazines, mail order, even ebay has checkboxes to donate to charities when you list your auction trying to get you to give money away before you even earn it. Every try to cancel a book or music club thing, or how about those 'get a free xbox' promos you see everywhere (its free after you buy $500 worth of shit and 'free' subscriptions sure). Every sales form has prechecked 'promo' or newsletter boxes no matter where you buy from, consumers are used to seeing prechecks in one form or another. Sure there are some bad business practices going on but mostly it's just capitalizing on sales and perfectly legit.

I always thought its the 80 20 rule, so only 20 percent make the actual sales.

Most affiliates don't understand or give a shit about their traffic, so they have no issues at all fucking their customers. It's because they don't consider them customers in the first place, only found money.
It's no surprise that the vast majority of affiliates send their traffic to SHIT sites and programs, ones they've never seen the members area of. Blinded by $$$ signs to make pennies. They don't understand that the whopping $50 they just made is making the program $150 by charging the member multiple times, cross sales, ez click upgrades, duplicate members areas and all that. With that capital those programs can purchase just about any traffic that affiliate has ... just think about that for a second. It's not like most of them invest the money back into content. ![]() And the affiliate will likely never have that member purchase through them again. ![]() |

Shrug, I don't think statements like "the affiliate model is dying out" or pointing out what a few large companies are doing really represent the entire industry. There is so much of the online adult industry that has never posted on GFY, or most GFYers have ever heard of. I'll keep generating as much niche traffic as i can and sending it to whoever will take it, or my own paysites, and that will keep on working for years to come, regardless of who is doing prechecked presales or what tube sites are out there.
Life goes on. |

I can see the current affiliate model getting too expensive to maintain.

I have no issue asking for access to a site to make my own promo tools. I'm sure 99% of program owners wouldn't have a problem putting in no effort to gain additional sales from an affiliate whos willing to work as hard as they are.
