Can I grow a tree in my vegas garage?

I know this may seem strange, but I want a tree for my cats to scratch and climb in my garage. I am located in Las Vegas, so therefore the garage gets to 110 or more in the summer and down to 40 during winter at night I am sure.

It will not be grounded. It will be kept in a wooden box or something that store bought trees arrive in.

What should look for?

I think you would be best off asking somebody at the nursery... what do you do about light?

Why don't you just get a fake one?

Why would you put your cats into such extreme temperatures? Are you trying to kill them? Put one of those carpeted jungle gyms they can climb up and sleep on in the house where they will be comfortable.

LOL that little air vent isn't going to be much... that garage must be scorching during the day. Especially if you are trying to create light for the trees.

a door to my garage connects to the house. that door has a doggie door. the cats choose to play in the garage, but not so much during july and august.

Make one out of carpet and wood rather than a natural tree on which they would probably ignore anyways

yes.
but i want to take things to the next level.
a real tree is healthy for cats anyways, but understandably they are hard to grow.

You are going to need a tall garage for any tree to have a big enough trunk/branches for cats to play on. Nice thought but bad idea.

the tree won't be big enough for the cat.. You need to get something like one of these..

They make all types of them, they are spendy though, but it will keep your cat pretty happy usually if they know they have full access to climb it and tear it up..

alright, i learned that no tree with thick enough branches is one, for sale, and two, dwarfed enough to fit long and wide but not tall.

i already bought some cat trees from the pet store, but they are just not big enough. maybe online i can find some real cat play trees. the shipping might be enormous though. the five foot petstore cat trees are heavy.
