As I see the past & the future [no pics]

Porn will never die!!!!!!!!!!!! I personally guarantee you that.

What's happening:
just the players change, the form of delivery changes & the business models change
I watched magazines go to shit, 8mm, vcr, vcc, betamax, laserdisc, minidisc, cdi, vhs, cd, dvd, HD-dvd, etc.
Then there was dvd, paysites, blu ray, etc.
Next is TV with ondemand full dvds at a few bucks from cable companies/TV manufacturers/dsl providers/hardware manufacturers, IPTV, mobile, ipod, iphone, tubes, HD, 500GB blu ray discs, holodisc, huge Harddrives, fiber to the home, wimax, etc.

The dangers:
The only danger to ALL is that consumers get used to NOT paying for content. Kids grow up with this (some don't even know what a record or cd is anymore or that there are stores where you can buy cds). People exchange content on cds/dvds/usb sticks/harddrives/websites/etc. like it's worth nothing anymore. The collector value is decreasing and the impuls buying/usings are increasing.

Worldwide:
The problem is also macro economic, not just micro economic. All countries have their own laws so there is no worldwide solution (at least 3 countries have NO copyright laws at all and some just don't give a shit for there are worse problems then copyright theft).
Laws have flaws, even in countries where copyrights are well protected. Then there are smart lawyers and laws that conflict with copyright laws like privacy from clients with a dsl provider. Lawyers are expensive and rather tend to stall cases then resolve them just to bill more hours. So "greed" is one of the 7 sins in this scenario also (not just 1 IMHO).

Surfer time:
He want it NOW, EASY, CHEAP or FREE, best quality, no hassle, no restrictions (like drm), no spam, no billing forever, fast email answers, no bull shit stories, quick & friendly helpdesk, etc.
OR he will tell on forums, tell his friends, make websites, etc. about your "service".
The power is no longer in the hands of the industry for 100%, it's tending more towards the ever more demanding consumer.

People that NEVER want to pay for anything will also never be a customer in this bizz, so best is to focus on the ones that DO want to pay something for quality, service & helpdesk. Microsoft does the same; they are not chasing 16 year old students using XP illegal, hell no, they are chasing DELL, Fujitsu Siemens, businesses, governments, universities...in short: get the money where it's at!!
The consumer used to be able to select what he was offered, now the consumer is getting smart, well educated, verbally stronger and less ashamed of porn, can compare all easliy on the internet, look up reviews, use google and all this in a BAD economic rollercoaster.

Cultural & financial differences:
In the USA it's normal to have 5 creditcards in your wallet but in Europe some people have 1 or 2 when they make enough money, are over 21, etc.
So in Europe more sites use premium phonelines, sms or direct bank debits (100% guaranteed payments). These also evolve for better or worse.
The way to approach or bill people can not just be "translated". It requires a personal & local touch and marketing towards both affiates & consumers.
Some countries are "richer" then others, so Europe can not been seen as a "country" for it has 54 countries all with different laws, cultures & financial situations.

My 50 cents:
I've seen may many VHS rental stores going out of business. These were really nice people I helped for years, they told me everything about their lives, their business, their kids & their problems.
They just could not compete with the DVD stores. Now the same is happening with the cd & dvd stores and even cd/dvd e-commerce sites. Magazine guys blame the VHS guys, VHS guys blame the DVD guys, DVD guys blame the E-commerce guys, E-commerce guys blame the websites, now the websites blame the tube sites, tube sites will blame TV guys and so on.
The lesson is "nothing stays forever". I've seen it and been there twice with VHS & DVD but I also lost friend and family by sickness or car accidents, so live itself ain't forever also.

The future:
So what's next ? You tell me. Innovations & trends will never stop to evolve.
I hope for a worldwide billing system which is 100% guaranteed and costs less the 5%.
That will solve much of any problems like fraude, chargebacks, etc. from both consumers as fraudulent promotors.
I hope for a market where the supply meets demand and where the suppliers exceeds the expectations of the consumer in every possible way, therefore keeping him/her instead of scaring them away. Unhappy people don't come back and neither complain ! They go look somewhere else and tell everybody they know that they were unhappy with the service (verbally and online).
Innovate, love your customer, surprise them, read all bizz & financial info, talk to people, ask them what they want or don't and why. Make your own unique plan and go for it !
If it does not work, there's something you're not doing right, find out what, change it, try again, try harder, believe in yourself (but don't piss against the wind for you'll get wet). Spend more time on improvement, thinking, innovation and your own customers, staff or even friends and family instead of using hours to put somebody else down in this board. The universe consists of energy. What you give = what you get. Wether it's positive or negative.

Did you enjoy dinner? What did you have?
Always nice to help your partner in the house!
Good thing to see you working on these galleries.
Playing with the kids always makes you forget all the rest
