Who is the best all in one programmer/seo/designer/etc on the board?

I would like to know who has the best reputation as really good and serious programmers/seo/designer/dedicated server/anything needed all in one person in this board for hire at a fair price.

I'm making a list with portfolio's for a project of mine, and I would like to know who the best programmers here are that have time for new projects fairly soon.

Hope I'm not being too vague, apologies and thank you for any replies in the right direction.

Thanks for the replies so far guys,

I'm really trying to take this project seriously, and I'm looking for someone completely capable.

I could get a designer, that's not really a problem. I just need top of the line professional programming and seo really.

Every now and then I will see a programmer post their portfolio, but I really need to get them all together.. could be a useful thread for gfy.. compiling all the programmers for easy reference.

So if your a good programmer who knows what they are doing please post your contact info, thank you very much.

Looking for someone reputable with experience is all

I can do most, but I only code XHTML/CSS and edit PHP, so officially that wouldn't qualify as programmer.

Sounds like you need a design & development studio. We are that studio.

We have designers on one wing, programmers on the other. Every project is done from the ground up taking into account the SEO parameter, from site navigation to clean coding. However we do not build links, even though we have the knowhow (a must for a successful development).

If you'd like to learn more about how we can help you, please contact me at trent [at] adultcreativelabs.com and I'll be happy to show you some of our current projects.

Very.

What I have found in my searches is that you are better off dividing the project to the strengths. A good programmer is not always the more creative, or good designer. Some do not do design work. Some are decent at server side stuff, others fucking suck.

Most programmers and designers have 'basic' SEO skills. Some will have a much better understanding than others out there. But one compared to the other is going to be minimal difference most times. Especially if you have been in the online game for any number of years. You know, or should, as much as most of them will.

For me, it seems, breaking projects into smaller pieces makes it easier to get it completed. But finding good coders, and designers, who are reliable, consistent, and creative is like a needle in a stack of needles.

It's not possible to find such person, you can be good at one thing but bad at one.
That means you are either good designer either good programmer.

I'd like to think im good at both designing and programming. It's one of the reason people some people hired me over other coders. However, I VERY rarely design, as it takes too long and it frustrating sometimes.

That's me.

I built the entire site http://AsianAndHot.com including the members CMS all content, hosted galleries, join forms, cookies, redirects, pops, windows, all script and database customizations, tweaks and hacks .. everything. Yes, the SEO but he didn't want to do much with that.

I also work in LAMP shell.

So where do I start?

In my experience people ranting and raving about their demands and expectations in vague terms such as these, and not mentioning their budget at all aren't really worth the time of day.

If you are still looking, you can get me at www.adultmedia.ca and if I may add, I am also great with video from SD to HD with FCP, Premiere, Avid and After Effects. Heh..

Any designer that calls himself a "good programmer" makes me extremely suspicious from the start, almost to the point of dismissal. And vise-versa.

Just because you can make something look shiny and mostly work-ok, doesn't mean it's "good". A good programmer will understand how to scale things, good application design, database schema (to an extent - if you want to get crazy you might want a DBA), etc.

While a *very* few of these folks exist, they can demand salaries you probably cannot afford to pay. They work for places like google with fancy titles, since those are the places that can generally afford to pay them.

As others have said, split the project into two sides. Have your designers whip up some templates, and your programmers make them "do stuff". This does mean your programmers need to know some HTML/CSS/etc. but that is much more reasonable.

Now.. the chances of you *actually needing* a very good programmer/designer are actually rather slim You'd be surprised at what this industry is built on, software wise. It's pretty scary when you look under the hood. The number of applications I can look at and go "wow, this guy actually knows his stuff!" are pretty few and far between these days. Having to explain to "developers" that no, you shouldn't be doing a select * for every element on your page, since you are now crushing the database server with 120 queries per pageload... ugh. More common than you'd think My personal favorite right now is "developers" storing images in MySQL.. Not sure why that all of a sudden became the thing to do.

Sorry, rantmode off

IMO, if the guy is great at all three of those aspects you mentioned, he has no reason not to be working on his own (he can program/design his sites and seo them to get traffic)

Unless he needs the social interaction that a office brings, but in that case he'd typically be employed right now and not looking.

You are better off seeking a designer who also knows somewhat about SEO and then a different coder who also knows SEO.

That said, I think I'm a very reliable, experienced coder and solid with SEO (my mainstream blogs are in top 10 for google for most of their terms) - but I have my own stuff to do so not looking

Good luck though!

For Layout and Design I'd go with www.adultdesign.com or www.dickmansdesign.com

For SEO Architecture I'd hire Mark from E4A (you can icq me 266942896 for his information)

For SEO Text (because that's what the bots care about - not pics or videos) use www.EngineFood.com

For code I would never hire anyone unless I knew them personally. Way too many things can be fucked around with by a coder so trust matters far more than skill level.

Hope that helps

Joomla + RocketTheme's design "Dimensions".

You heavily modified it, of course, but saying you built it entirely is stretching it. Unless you wrote Joomla by yourself and own RocketTheme.

The person you are looking for doesn't come at a "fair" price. They come at a premium. You're really asking for a team of people. One guy who can handle all of this is a very rare individual, and won't come cheap, or even at a "fair" price.

I guess it would depend on what you need and how much time you require. My prices aren't fair, I have a huge client base and proven track record to backup my game.

Hit me up on ICQ if you would like to discuss what you have and what your offer is.

No such thing as a all in 1 programmer/seo/designer. You one or NOTHING.

Get a designer to create your sites.
Get a programmer to create your database
Get a SEO to SEO your site.

3 people -- all experienced in their right fields.
