Nice content but...

I might be in the minority and I accept this solely as my opinion...but I have a really hard time spending money at a website that looks so poor. I admit to being a bit of a snob in this area but even with a killer product, if I didn't "know" you and you/your company didn't have a solid reputation (references) in the industry, I would avoid doing business with you.

Does anyone else base Internet buying decisions on the professional appearance of a website? Do I need counseling?

our shop looks poor? not professional? wow, that's the first time i hear that in years. is that cause you want to sell me your designs, or what?

i would say: you need counseling. really. we are in the business since 5 years, we have been nominated 3 times for the XBiz Award with this "poor looking" shop (without buying advertising with them). and we are not selling webdesign but content. And the shop works.

And if i don't stop typing i will start screaming at my screen...

LOL -- no...I am gainfully employed and happy where I am and I have my own things on the side -- not design...definitely not trying to sell anyone anything. I am totally not bagging on the product or any person/personality at the company. It just looks like an old template system to my eye and far from modern. You have excellent content and I would be far more apt to buy from you for my program if the website looked more up-to-date and, yes...professional.

so if you buy content you don't care how the content looks like, what the license says, if all 2257 docs are included or don't simply search for the name on here or other boards - you base it on the "design" of the store? wow

If I came across your store while looking for content for my program -- and not through a link on the boards -- I would move along and never even spend a second there to see the content. Your content would go unseen by me, guaranteed.

Yes...I absolutely do base purchasing decisions on the Internet by whether the website looks professional or not. Professional gives the illusion of stable and solid. Unprofessional strikes me as fly-by-night. Perception is everything when it comes to my money and where I spend it and a website has a nanosecond to capture my confidence, trust and interest.

It is what it is -- to me.

As I said in my first post, nice content...
