Not that many Muslims in Australia. And honestly (and I am not defending it) I think you would be hard pressed to find anywhere in the world that hates Muslims as much. I am from Sydney, and young, and I grew up with the type of people who turned up to the riot (literally I knew a few who did, and generally speaking the "type" of person). Believe me, and it was reported on the news, people traveled 4-5 hours to turn up to it. From up the coast, down the coast, from the West of Sydney, and had people known it was going to be as big as it was you would of had another 10,000 turn up. Like I said, I do honestly think you'd be hard pressed to find many places that hate them as much, and sure a lot of it is from the "redneck" type, but nonetheless it is absolutely there (and quite strong) among the rich and well educated too from everything I've seen.

Good people, and decent for the most part, but very hostile to anything they see as a threat to Australia, or the lifestyle many enjoy here, and not real worldly people. I knew a few guys from the bush/rural area's of NSW itching to bring their guns to Sydney when the Cronulla issues (what you were referring to) were at their peak. At the end though, most of these people are too dumb, or don't care enough about politics to see the country is being sold out from underneath them anyway to Asia. Such is life I guess.

I remember in highschool my lebanese friend used to play a video game where the muslims would kill Israelis. He bought the game from Lebanon in a CD. That game demonized Jews and definitey encouraged killing of innocent people.
