Islands of Adventure is a blast. The coasters there are the only good ones in Orlando. The old park could use some updating, but IOA is the shit.

Not too mention the Aerosmith coaster and stunt show with the cars and motorcycles. The new Toy Story ride they have there is, in my opinion, the best ride in ANY of the Disney parks.

The counter service meals are the standard cafeteria type burger, salads and fries type setup. Those you just walk up to and order.

All the meals are deducted from your "ticket". It's really a nice addition to the package. We ate like kings and are already planning on where to eat next year.
Ah ok. That makes sense.

In all the times the GF has been there. They have never done the dining plan either. But she had me look it up for her to present to her family for the Feb trip. I think they are going to end up doing it that way for their first time. Just because it's the WHOLE family.

Granny, parents, bros and sis, her kids, their kids, and so on.

I can only IMAGINE the hate one would feel being behind them in line.

Tee hee.

Some confusion here... I was thinking of DISNEY world, MGM/Hollywood whatever you call it is a WASTE but if you're going other places then yes Islands of Adventure looks good... Its NOT disney though and is another large admission fee. I stuck to disney world when I was down there with the park hopper.

Other trips down I've gone to sea world, busch gardens and other oddball parks but Disney really is the only must go to place... If you suggest a place with roller coasters just remember SANDUSKY ohio isn't all that far away from us. Cedar Point is the ONLY place for roller coasters. The thrill rides at places like disney world are a SNOOZE compared to any of the top 5 coasters at cedar point.

Aerosmith coaster is a weak ride but totally worth going in. Its in the dark and goes upside down but doesn't jerk you at all and isn't all that fast.

That big mountain one at ANimal Kingdom was cool too... Goes backwards so it was interesting.

Space Mountain is very lame but sorta essential.

I was just in Disneyworld this past July....You need to commit at least one day to each park....I've only been to Magic Kingdom and Epcot and I tried to do it in a day and failed.....

I fucking LOVED Disneyworld...

Yeah. I hear unless you go annually, and have a routine, you need to give most (not all) a day to truly enjoy.

We went with the entire family too. There were 16 of us.

Hollywood studios isn't a waste of time. Don't listen to him.

The new Toy Story ride alone was worth the price of admission. But then again, we're Disney freaks.

FastPass is limited. I am pretty sure it's by time. You're able to get one FastPass every 2 or so hours.

And because it's Disney, I don't think anyone expects the rides to be like the coasters at Cedar Point. The rides are just there to keep you occupied while the shuffle you from store to store. At least that's the joke that I like to make.

I am sure since it's my first time, and theme park experience limited, all the parks will be a lot for me to take in for this trip.

seriously plan a day and a half for animal kingdom alone... TRUST ME! You won't want to be rushed in that place but not really enough for a full 2 days. Magic Kingdom is another absolutel classic with things for everybody...

WAY in the back of Magic Kingdom is a wooden coaster that is NOT a kiddie coaster but has a smaller height requirement that my son was clearly under but slid through and he road it 5 times with his hands in the air the entire time. I kept a hand on him just because I'm kinda fat and the bar was way up off of him. Of course this is the same kid who didn't even have the slightest bit of fear on his face for the tower of terror pic ;) The only scary part of that was the dark closed in cramped rooms...

shit there's a new toy story ride? My son made me go through that buzz lightyear shooter thing at Magic Kingdom seriously 30 times! Luckily it was off hours and we just walked right back in every time.

MGM though is the kind of place where you either love it or hate it... WHen you walk in they have all kinds of street performers and other things like that. It has an insane amount of stores and it is heavily based on "shows" If you like going and watching shows it is THE place to go. Personally cheesy shows are NOT for me. Cedar Point to me though is the ultimate place to "vacation" and if you're not a coaster person what they call coasters at disney world WILL be fun for you. Space mountain is really quite slow and is about on par with a kiddy coaster at cedar point. The aerosmith one is quite cool... If you like that corkscrew at Michigan Adventure its the same think only in the dark basically.

DO eat shrooms before you go in. It will help you make it through the day.

DONT take pics with your balls hanging out with the Disney people. The kids dont like it.

I guess my question is this... who has been a few times, and can offer up some advice?

There looks like there is so much to do, even in ONE park, it will be hard to conquer in a day. Much less take in all the shows, parades, and so forth.

Any tips, no matter how small, to survive Disney would be appreciated.

When are you going ? I'm planning to go on January. This would be my second time. You'll love it.

I went with my sister and cousin and had a blast. Oh... and I lost my virginity there....

Yeah. I was there this summer. It was festive.

The rides there are too fucking short though! They need to let you do like 5 times around the track or something. Fuckin in the line longer than the ride.

Those fucking kids, pushing, rude ass parents, bitching, bawling, ruin the festive about the fun.

Much like Xmas at the mall.

I don't hang out and toe watch at the mall I damn near sprint to what I need and get the hell out! Anything short of giant clearance things in the windows and I won't bother stopping. I'd rather buy clothes at target or Kohls and have 5 pairs of jeans for the price of 1 at the mall. JC Penny rocks for mens clothes too. they always have good clearances.

I just go to check out the ladies.

I order most of my clothes from Polo Big and Tall online. Then at least I get clothes that fit nice.
