Breast Cancer Hogging the Spotlight.
Even as the economy implodes and the nation prepares for a historic election, America is flooded with the pink ribbons of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Now days you see the ribbons are on yogurt containers, race cars, video game machines, foot callous scrapers, teddy bears, jewelry, cruise ships, cosmetics, department store gift cards ? every conceivable product. I mean Im all for raising $ for the cause but damn there are other diseases that need funding. And I dont think there will EVER be a cure. It would be a pharmaceutical nightmare for the government.

What's your point, that we should ignore the suffering of our mothers, wives and daughters because there are popular news events occurring?

The reality is that billions of $ have already been spent on a cure and another billion isn't going to make a bit of difference. All the $ should be spent on prevention. We know good and well that the American Diet is the contributing factor because studies (www.thechinastudy.com) show that you can take a rural Chinese person or someone from Japan where there is little to NO incident of breast cancer and drop them off in any city in the USA and they'll instantly assume the same risk as everyone living here.
Cancer is uncontrolled growth of damaged cells. #1 you need damage & #2 you need growth. All of us have cancer cells floating around in our body. Our immune system snuffs them out. We get them from the sun, environmental contaminates, medications, etc. #2. Growth. The reason poor cultures don't have the rates of cancer that we do is because they eat mostly plant based starch diets (lots of rice and or potatoes) In America we have a Birthday Meal for Breakfast, ThanksGiving for Lunch and Christmas for Dinner. That's a huge pile of fat & protein which provide ROCKET FUEL for ALL cells in our body. At the same time this stresses our immune system and after a decade or two the cancer wins out. What can you do? Switch to a low fat (no cooking oils) mostly plant based diet. In low cancer populations around the world animal products are under 10% of their total calories. Before massive animal agriculture and government subsidies we'd only eat Eggs on Easter, Turkey on ThanksGiving, and Ham on Christmas. Now with the modern meat machine at full tilt you can eat yourself to death every day for 99 cents. Don't shoot the messenger, but this really should be common sense. The only cancer cure is a tube that dumps 90% of everything you eat into the trash instead of your digestive system OR you can enjoy Rice, Potatoes, Bean Burritos, Soups, Whole Grain Breads and Pastas to your HEART's content and live chronological and biologically long enjoyable disease free lives.

its becoming too political. donate to the cause. dont just support the cause b/c it makes u look better in your quest for office.
I dont think enough time, $ or effort is put into educating our youth against std's aids etc, something thats widely more preventable than cancer.

Companies only put that pink ribbon shit on all their products because they know women are big consumers and do a lot of the shopping. |
