I use dreamweaver. I used to do it by hand way back when using notepad but dreamweaver makes it so much simpler these days.

I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 for the rough and Notepad++ for the fine tuning - best way to keep it fast AND clean ...

It's probably Dreamweaver or Photoshop.

Unless you're a true coder and work with Notepad.

You did say HTML so therefore dreamweaver beats out any of the real TEXT editors. Frontpage adds too much BS to your basic HTML editing.

Dreamweaver. The CS3 version has a bunch of cool scripting setup that you can use with almost one-click ease. I haven't had a chance to test-drive the CS4 version yet - but see that it has some nice improvements, one of which is the ability to toggle between 'Live View' and 'Code View' within the application & it includes quite a bit of application resources for stuff like Ajax, Java, Jquery & Spry. There are also some PSD/Photoshop integrations.

My choice is Dreamweaver, Notepad doesn't even have line numbers, Kate or any other linux based editor is way better.

Ahhh... be nice.
It's find and dandy turning out point+click HTML shit from a pretty GUI with nice popups and whatnot that prompt you on what to call your new DIV tag. Afterall, HTML is just putting together a chopped up static image, right, ala AlienQ? And in regard to the original poster, that's all that was asked.

In regard to some of the people mentioning a text editor of sorts, don't hate. Try and relate.
