Anyone have any experience with doing this?

Essentially, I see some sites that post a blog news article and instead of allowing the surfer to fill in a comment, they put a link to the message board, suggesting you post a comment there.

My instincts tell me that leaving it as comments serves the purpose better.

Thoughts?

Well, its good if you are trying to populate a forum.

but in terms of making the blog more exciting, leave them there.

just make sure and filter it with anti-spam plugins..
