Volvo XC90?

Hey guys I am turning in the lease on my family car and I need to get a new one. This is just for around town stuff with the family and long car trips back to see my extended family in NY. Anyone know how the XC90 holds up? I have been doing some research but I figured I would ask here for peoples personal experiance. If you have any good or bad news on it let me know please.

its not pretty, but its a REAL nice car to drive. I had rented one for 14 days when my v70 was getting a new engine. The engine (v8 model) is based on the Marine engine, and it goes on forever. Really smooth ride.

Would never buy a v8 myself, because of our gasprices

The XC 90 is a really good choice. The only problem is the hatchback which is devided into two parts. One part has to be tilt up the other has to be flapped down. Thatīs at least inconvenient especially if you have to load dogs or a buggy for example.

Everything else is fine with that Volvo. Especially the Volvo seats are great for long distances.

If you havenīt had a look at the XC 60, you should give it a try also. A bit smaller then the XC 90, but technically speaking an absolute miracle. But Iīm not sure if it is available in the US yet.

I see and xc70 that looks like a bigger version of the old cross country station wagon but I dont see an vc60 Ill check at the dealer. I have had a volvo for years now and it runs like a dream so I am glad that carries over to the xc90.

Thanks for the input m4yadult, kandah and ebus_dk. I am a bit concerned about the hatch also I did not realise that as I have a big german shepherd and she was part of my choice to get an suv instead of a sedan. The days of the buggy are over I think unless the future wife gets pregnant which is not in the plan but who knows.

If you go to the dealership, try the XC70 as well. I think its a better drive, and would be one of the cars I would look at if I was going to get a new Family car.

Something messed up near me happened not too long ago, somehow some truck fell onto a car, person would of been dead... But it was a Volvo, he didnt have much. Very good cars for family, quite reliable and safe.

If you donīt need a SUV the XC 70 is the better choice. Itīs much more convenient with family and the dog, like Ebus_DK pointed out already.

Thatīs the XC 60

it is a great quality car. I worked for Volvo as a manager for a while and that was the biggest seller. If you want technical info on the vehicle hit me up on icq
