Funny that you post this today - beyond cezarcash, I run a handful of health offers - with diet products (colon cleanse/acai berry) being the heavy sell of late. I just looked at two of my "friendly competitors" offers and beyond the $89 dollar ticket after the free trial, the surfer is clipped for 2 other products each at $49 - no check box - nothing in the terms...but you do get an email 14 days later mentioning the wonderful deal they took the liberty of enrolling you in...

Global corporations have an interest in things getting even worse than they are now. Then they can sit back and watch a huge amount of restrictive legislation appear. Legislation that will bring high costs to running an e-business, making it virtually impossible for random dude to start any kind of e-biz. Global players have hinted at before that entry to e-business didn't have enough barrier(s)(dont bug me for a link).

I heard a rumor from some of the processing folks that one or both of the card associations will be cracking down on cross-sells early next year, though who knows what that means.
