Windows crashing - Flash Errors - problem with Banner here on GFY

Lately my IE has been crashing with Flash errors, and I have updated everything and made sure Flash latest version is installed, but there is one banner here that consistently causes the crash.

It is the Spread4uEvolution banner

Not blaming Spread4u specifically, as it could just be an undocumented problem that is occuring, but I have run tests and the Spread4u banner consistently is causing the problem and none of the other banners here on gfy are a problem

Anyone else getting IE crashes when the Spread4u banner is displayed?

any solutions?

Its a Flash10 ocx error right?

Blame Adobe. After upgrading the flashpluging crashes 50 times a day

yes, that is the error

whatever Adobe has changed to cause the problem isn't widespread through all the banners as I mentioned, for some reason only that one banner causes the error, so there may just be a small piece of code that is causing the crash

the only pattern we have seen so far is, that Googles swfobject seem to be involved in a lot of the setups where it does crash. http://code.google.com/p/swfobject

I know Spread4u use that technology on their site, but dont know their banner

it is easy to see here, just refresh the main page enough times until it comes up, I did that many times and only that single banner caused the crash, and it was consistent.... every time the spread4u banner displayed I got the crash, none of the others caused it

I just found something REALLY strange

I opened the spread4u mainpage and had it running in the background in a other instance of IE7 and after 5 mins it looked like something tried to load a fullscreen layer

I've been quick to hit 'back' when I spot that banner, but it just got me again a minute ago when it was at the bottom of the screen instead of the top

it is especially a piss off when you have many tabs open and the whole thing crashes

I blocked Flash on GFY ages ago with flashblock for firefox and opera.
The banners were getting pretty annoying.

it must be something simple though, because none of the other banners are causing a crash, just the spread4u banner... hopefully they know about the problem and do something about it, because their banner doesn't do them much good when it is crashing half the browsers on gfy

Try and load their mainpage (http://www.spread4u.com) and let it site there in the background for a while - 5-15 mins

i must also agree that some banners are really f*cked up ... some are freezing my opera and i cannot even use quick reply ... i saw it with flash banners so i think it will be good to make some restrictions, imho some flash banners are big an not optimized ... loading megas of datas in banners can cause the problems imho ...
