Alright guys, we are starting a nationwide recruiting program soon. figure i'll give my bros at GFY a run in early...
We are looking to bring on 100 new business brokers (independent business intermediaries) this year.

-Part-time, your hours...you can always increase time spent later
-Established mainstream industry
-Company voted one of the 200 fastest growning companies in America 2008
-Average agent making $150K annual (part time!) no-shit.
-Hardest thing you'll have to do is talk on the phone.
-Its NOT MLM, or any bullshit scam, it's a real business like real estate (much better) etc.
-no cold calling
-no selling to friends
-no selling soaps or stupid itmes
-No selling!
-We train you - no exp nec.

We have 200 brokers and 20 branch offices mostly in the East Coast right now, and I'm looking to expand into other states fast. If you are somewhat organized and will call people back and follow up...you may be right for this. There's no License required in most states and we have an online training program to get you certified. Several million dollar proprietary computer platform and a marketing program that makes putting deals together effortless.

Business Broker: one who assists the seller of a business in meeting a potential buyer of his business and charges a commission for putting the transaction together.

We have over 3000 sellers signed exclusively with us and 50,000 buyers. Just need solid people to bring them together...easy.

I wanted to mail envelopes ... my dream job - all day just me and some fuckin envelopes. I want to tell people this is what i do, and Im paid well for it. But nope - had to do the college thing, now im over qualified and all the fun MLM, scuz jobs im passed over for.

Of course it isn't the real deal. No experience necessary, part time, average pay of $150k, no apparent education requirements.

Now, consider that it's an existing, developed industry. With a decent amount of experienced competition.

To bring in that average pay of $150k, going by a 10% success fee commission and excluding the company's share, an agent would have to broker $1.5 million of transactions. However, considering the company's share, you're looking at a rather larger volume. Let's say, $3 million (could be a million more or less).

At an average price of $250k per business, that's one sale a month. It doesn't sound like much, perhaps, but take into account that you're up against more experienced competition, that you start without valuable contacts, that you start without knowing the local market, etc.

Business brokering is certainly a field where, with experience, you can make a six figure salary relatively easily. However, the original post is a blatant lie. Especially in the beginning, it will be anything but "effortless", it will most certainly not be "part time", and hitting that $150k in your first few years in the field is unlikely.

A realistic view of what to expect: the first few years, you'll be working your ass off for relatively little money, hearing "no" until the very word makes you sick, and networking until you develop RSI from all the handshakes.

You'll need to be keenly aware of the local market and its movements, you'll need to build up an extensive network of potential buyers and sellers, and you'll need to gain an intimate knowledge of the types of businesses you mainly focus on.

Summarized:
Is there money in it? Hell yeah.
Is it as easy as described by RayVega? Hell no.
