the assassination of jesse james... by the coward Robert Ford

This movie is excellent! Watched it twice this week (first on cable, then on DVD) and I really liked it. Brad Pitt is a fucking great actor, and he might have established himself as one of my all-time favorites after portrayal of Jesse James. The musical score is by the great Nick Cave (who gives a brief appearance near the end of the movie), and it is chilling and beautiful. The guy who plays Robert Ford (Ben Affleck's brother) really does a superb job. And finally, the photography in this film is just breathtaking.

Some might find it a bit too long (2 and a half hours plus). But I just loved it. Highly recommended.

Yea it's a good but long movie.. It's pretty damn slow paced, but it had a good story line that made up for it.

If you like the cowboy type movies check out 3:10 to Yuma. It was a little more shoot em up type but still pretty good.

3:10 was a great film.

I've got Jesse James on DVR, was just about to watch it now actually... time to crack another beer.

I've had the BluRay for awhile. Still have yet to sit down and watch it. Maybe that's what I'll do tonight...

Give your opinion after watching it: boring or good?

Depending on how much patience you have, this movie will be either boring, or great.

I loved it, and thought it was pretty intense. Even during the quiet scenes, there was something scary boiling under the surface. It seemed like Jesse James was a hard man to spend time with, and was his own worst enemy.

That's exactly what I think. There is a reason why the pace moves so slow and it's because the film does an excellent job of building up tension and showing you characters that you really come to understand. Two things that really help create a perfect climax when Jesse is finally murdered. The music plays a very important role, too.

Just finished it. Fantastic movie. I have a whole new respect for Casey Affleck after this. Wow. Boring? Hell, no. I didn't want it to end.

I see that Casey Affleck was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his role in this film. Well deserved!
