Great games. I finally got around to playing GOW2 this past week and it really looks amazing.

You should be able to get 1 at gamestop for $19-29. 2 you can get for $50 used.

Yep, just picked up #1 for $29

EVERY store I checked up until today was $45+ for GOW and $50+ for GOW2 .. was pissing me off big time.

Now I gotta wait till the kids go to sleep to test out my new game! can't wait.

Games are short and that sucks but I think the reason is the complexity. With the better graphics and more intricate characters/interaction it just takes longer and longer to developed a game so they end up just being shorter. If they made a regular shooter like Gears with a 40 hour campaign it would take 5 years to develop. The AAA titles already take 2 or 3 years sometimes.

That's why COD5 was just a re-skin of COD4. It gives the developer 2+ years to make a totally new COD6. Even then the SP is only going to be about 5 hours long.

BTW Block Buster has been running a clearance sale with a buy 1 used game and get a second 1 free on select titles. I picked up GTA 4 and Orange box for $14.95. That's $7.50 a piece to own for less than it would cost to rent the same disc for five days

They kept adding titles to the bin so I went back and picked up Condemned 2 and Frontlines for $14.95 and grabbed Guitar Hero Legends of Rock bundle new for $52.99

Next on my list is GRID new for $37

Hmm, I got it at blockbuster, but didn't see anything advertised as 2for1 .. I'm extremely hung over, so I may have missed it I'll go back tomorrow and see if I can collect another game ..

This game is pretty incredible :D great graphics and the gameplay is insane.

GOW 1 is fun, although I never could figure out how to beat the guy on the train at the end of the game, that was frustrating as it is the only game I have ever given up trying to finish.

Game does seem pretty hard so far

I keep getting blown to fuck by this monster dude with a chaingun..

Every time I think I've actually beat him, some other dude blows me up.
I'll get it, still getting used to the controls, probably shoulda taken the walkthrough, but I wanted to get right to it

Graphics are amazing though, can anyone name a game with better?

If you like the graphics in GOW 1 you'll like GOW 2 even better

get the Bow, and ammo in the last cart before going to where that fucker is ...

Go out the door and stay behind that first metal cover spot the entire time, blast him with the bow to remove the krill, and shoot the fuck out of him by shooting blind, then grenade his ass a few times and you're done the game :D it did take me quite a few lives, and a whole lot of cursing and swearing to finally kill the bastard though.. but I had motivation, I promised myself not to touch GOW2 till I killed his ass dead and saw the end of the story

Gears 2 is looking SICK so far 1/2 way thro Act 1 now, and I'm not regretting paying full price at the store even a little, Amazing games ( $33 for GOW and $67 for GOW2 ) so $100 even as I predicted, but no regrets at all.
I even went and ordered a fucking action figure for an extra $20

Last game that gripped me like these 2 was Halo way back when it first came out, but that's pretty weak in comparison IMO.

You playing it on Insane? I finished GoW 1 on Insane now I'm working on GoW2 on insane. Already played it on normal just to get an idea of what the levels are like. Also finished the 50 waves on the Horde section, but did that with my brother and his friend.
