Bush Is Great
Bush wasn't as bad of a President as the media portrays him.
Americans are sheep. They voted for Bush twice because he wasn't as boring as the other guy. And then they voted for Obama because they believe in this magical dream of his. Bush didn't make all of these bad decisions on his own. His biggest flaw is that he isn't a good judge of character. He surrounded himself with stubborn people who led him into these bad decisions. And maybe you have been affected by these decisions. You've lost money in the stock market. A loved one had died in Iraq. Your chihuahua drowned in New Orleans. Nobody wants America to fail, not even Bush. The biggest problem is that we can only notice when things go bad. There hasn't been a terrorist attack since 9/11. Most people don't want to believe that Bush's security policies prevented the attacks, and the absence of an attack is no way to prove that they did work. You can only prove that they didn't work if another attack were to occur. The same goes for the economy. Until the recent fallout, nobody praised Bush for keeping the economy afloat. We can't notice when the economy is behaving normally and praise Bush for keeping it running. We can only notice when it fails and blame him for it. Nobody foresaw the mortgage-backed security crisis in 2003 when the fed should have taken action. It is easy to look back and see where we should have acted, but it wasn't so obvious back then. And I don't think he hates Obama. He had that lunch with all of the former presidents where they talk. Bush is a Republican but regardless, he wants to see the success of America. In case you don't know, Obama is meeting weekly John McCain for advice. During the campaign, McCain said that Obama had no experience, and that he palled around with terrorists, among other things. But McCain too wants to see the success of America. Bush has had the hardest presidency of all. If you were in his shoes and many of your decisions lead to disaster, what would you do? Everybody hates you. People swear at you during press conferences. You get shoes thrown at you. Many want you dead. It's enough to push a man over the edge. I think that 99% of the population wouldn't be able to handle the job, and most of the remaining 1% would have quit or committed suicide after a couple of years. But Bush has stayed on, and it has taken a toll on him emotionally and physically. Your life may suck right now and maybe you choose to blame Bush for everything. You should think about two things. First of all, you elected him. And second, how do you think he feels about having caused all of these problems? He has affected 300 million people in America and hundreds of millions more abroad. Anybody who doesn't think that it has an effect on him should take a look at photos of him from 2001 and from today and see the difference. You are all going to have to get back to reality. Obama has a great attitude. But he is not a miracle. I hope for the best, and I think that he is better than McCain. But there are serious problems and they are not going to get fixed overnight. The US can't just keep printing money, and even if they could, it wouldn't solve the problems. The flow has been disrupted and it will take years for it to get back to where it was. Many companies have to collapse and many people have to lose their jobs before it gets back together. Maybe people will follow Obama's message of hope and help each other out in order for everybody to get through the troubles together.
