I'm at around 220, but I'm 6'2" and thankfully a fair amount of it is muscle. I do want to 'lean out' a bit before April, so I need to stop eating fast food and intensify my workout regimen. It's just really hard to do when my friends show up with a friggin' pizza and a case of Mountain Dew=/

im 6ft...i was 100 kilos about 4 months ago
then i stopped eating crap....cut down my sugar intake by a huge amount. no pop...no pasta after lunch....no breads etc etc i play basketball each week..and snowboard once a week im down to 203 lbs about 92 kilos. i want to keep my weight and trim out...so hitting the gym again soon...thing is i dont have a workout partner i can rely on to make a pact with me...for me its all or nothing...i need to be uber serious about anything im doing or its just not worth it |

100kg with 1,84m means that you should lose 20kg at least. Yes, that´s gonna take you 4 or 5 months at least. If you also make some exercises that can be easier. Just do it! I´ll feel good!

I've been on one of those LowCarb-HighFat diets since November and so far I've lost 13 kilo/28.6pounds.
This must be the most easy way to lose weight. You can eat really good food and still lose weight.

Cutting out soft drinks is a really easy start. Cutting back on your alcohol intake can help too (because of the sugar and/or carbs in most of it). Drink water.
The fad diets may have great short term results, but just remember that unless you plan on changing eating habits for the long haul, you might as well not throw out the old pants. Don't recondition your body to not accept a certain food group and then think that it won't come back to haunt you. |

when I lived abroad I automatically lost weight I was used to eating American portions far too large for any human being studies have shown that if you use a larger plate YOU WILL EAT MORE. True story.... Americans also have a buffet mentality: supersize me, eat everything that's given, get the "better deal" with more food at only pennies more, costco START EATING ON SMALLER PLATES! If you eat out ask the waiter to wrap half of it immediately. If you don't see it, you won't eat it. |

I lost some weight on my honeymoon. Did a lot (and yes I do mean a lot) of hiking under the hot fucking sun. It was too hot to eat any heavy shit for lunch so I had salads and fish. Drank practically no booze at all, ate very little bread. Most night I would eat a big dinner but it would mostly be fish.

i dont preach to meat eaters, but you could try going full veg instead of eating chicken and fish.
I stopped eating red meat for 2 years and then realized as long as you still eat dairy, fish, and birds, youre not doing it the full way, so I cut out all flesh. And its been great. i wont be in this thread arguing about vegetarianism, I simply offering my opinion on what has worked for me and my wife. I purchased numerous books regarding eating and health and have, over the course of 4 years, gone from daily meat eater to no meat. anyway, posting this stuff is akin to saying "mac is better" i really dont care to fight any of you about this, but, fact is, I am healthy, in shape, full of energy and dont weigh more than 160ish (even after Thanksgiving) and I wont argue with people who have eating problems trying to tell me vegetarians are bad, lol

Cut out the soda and sugar juices and replace it with water, and you'll be suprised on how many pounds you can lose.. its a lot. Also try some light exercise.

I love the GFY dietitian threads.
I guess I may as well add my two cents. Portion control and exercise is what is going to help you loose weight. It won't be fast, but will come off if you keep with it. Do heavy weights and high intensity interval cardio (so start with 30sec at 90% and 90sec active rest) to start. Going 45 minutes at 60% teaches your body to be more efficient not to burn fat. Screw these fad diets and such. You will never keep the weight off with those. You need to change your lifestyle.
