Any Epass security issues going on?

Got 2 of these updates regarding my epass accts

Dear Account Holder,

ePassporte would like to inform you that an increased number of merchants and ATMs in your country have experienced data compromises of payment cards used in their stores and at their ATMs, and that your funds may be at risk. To protect yourself, ePassporte highly recommends that you change the PIN of your Visa Electron Card today to ensure the safety of your funds. As this seems to be an ongoing problem, we highly recommend that you change your PIN on a monthly basis. As always, you are not charged for a PIN change.

To change the PIN of your Visa Electron Card, please go to "My Account," select the "Visa Card" option from the navigation bar, and click the "Manage Visa Cards" button. To update your PIN, enter your new preferred PIN, confirm it by entering it a second time, and then click the "Update" button.

ePassporte also highly recommends that you keep the majority of your funds on your ePassporte Wallet instead of your Visa Virtual Account. The ePassporte Wallet enables you to keep funds separate from your Visa Virtual Account and Visa Electron Card until you transfer the funds from the ePassporte Wallet to the Visa Virtual Account for use. By keeping your funds on the ePassporte Wallet, you ensure that your funds are protected in the event your Visa Virtual Account or Visa Electron Card is ever lost, stolen, or compromised through a stolen database, a merchant, or an ATM.

To initiate the transfer to your ePassporte Wallet, go to "My Account," select the "Transfer Money" option from the navigation bar, and click the "Wallet To/From Visa Virtual" button.

Thank you,
ePassporte Risk Management Department

There are a rise in card skimming at ATMs all over the world fraudsters place a fake front on a ATM with a card reader and PIN logger, or place a card reader and camera to record the PIN.
This is an issue effecting a lot of countries so to be safe its wise to change PIN regularly and keep the money in the wallet for extra security.

Examples:
http://www.utexas.edu/police/alerts/atm_scam/
http://www.heise-online.co.uk/securi...atures/100187/

A couple of good tips:
Use secure ATMs under video surveillance or inside a bank lobby.

Always place your hand over the ATM keypad to prevent cameras
or a person nearby person from recording your PIN.

Never let your Electron card out of sight. Know where your Electron card is at all times.
Always remember to take your Card and transaction record with you once your transaction
is complete.
