Who has used a bug bomb?

I got some type of bug, I figure a spider that's biting my wife and I in our sleep. Waking up with red welt type bites only one a time. So I figure to bomb the room, has anyone did it and how did it work for you? any tips I have dogs.

I had a spider prob last summer in my basement. I called an exterminator havent seen any since.

I dont think bombing one room would work you would have to do the whole house if you dont want them to come back.

Are you sure you dont have bed bugs? Well I guess maybe not, because its only one bite at a time.

I think it's best if you vacate your premises for a day or two if you're going to use one of those bug bombing fogger things. However, if it's just one or a few spiders you may want to try putting out a few of those sticky boards people use for mice. They also work incredibly well for attracting spiders, as they have a kind of odd peanut-buttery smell to them.

Also there's an electronic gizmo out there that you just plug into any wall outlet and it drives all manner of bugs and critters out and away from your home.

No its not bed bugs only one bite at a time. I was thinking a exterminator, we have one on contract thru the condo assoc but I figure if I can just deal with it.

I would never bomb just one room. Plan on leaving the house if you do.

stay in the room as long as possible after you do it to see if you can spot any spiders running for their lives

I was planning on doing when we are gone for two days. Maybe I will try the mice thing first.

I used the sticky boards in my rental house many years back, and found that they caught several spiders and other bugs, so I decided to leave a few around in there all the time, in out of the way places, so I know they work well.

Here's the link to the electronic bug repeller --
http://www.homeandbeyond.com/prod-ds-4001530.html

I have one running at the cabin and one in the house, so far they're working well.

Bombing works well, but you should do it when you are away for the weekend and don't leave any pets in the house. You can't really do one room either, more like the whole house.

We didn't try to bomb but after having a big wolf spider in our bathrub one afternoon we decided to have our entire inside and outside of our house sprayed. Since we live on the edge of town we have a lot of spiders that come in during the fall and most are wolf spiders. Usually they get stuck in our window wells but this one got inside some how probably through the utility room where all our popes/drainage is. $80 well spent as we haven't had any bugs nor spiders in the house since.

Move the bed away from the wall and vacuum everywhere around the bed, between the mattress and the box spring, the frame, everything. And wash all the sheets and comforters. The spider probably has a web somewhere so if it's gone, he will probably move on.

Someone told me spiders prefer flat surfaces and angles so if you are next to a wall, that's how they get on your bed. If there is a gap between the bed and the wall, they usually won't end up there.

But that's just me. If you are in a somewhat rural area though you might need an exterminator or something since the spiders can be a little more hardcore than the little ones in the city.

Yeah I know about that. When I worked at the lingerie modeling place twice during the summer, I would have to bomb the whole building for water bugs. It didnt work but it made the owner happy. I would have to figure my route because I was setting off 6 of them but it was a commercial building different from a home with animals.

Bombs are good...

Check the label to make sure it covers spiders, you may have to pay a bit more for some that do that. Also, since you're going to be out for two days...that's perfect. You need one for each room in the house, and if you have any large areas (spans more than 20 feet) you may need two (like in a living room/dining room area). Open cabinets and stuff...but make sure you wash any dishes when you get back.

If you don't do the whole house at once, you will literally just run most of the bugs to another part of the house.

Interesting... do they work for scorpions as well? I've seen a few in the house, and my exterminator that sprays outside here every month says there really isnt any pesticide that works well on scorpions.

We don't have scorpions up here in the frozen tundra (thank you god), but if we did I would certainly give it a try.

I think I'd use the rat-sized ones rather than the mouse ones though.
