it used to be, then they made Final Cut X and lots of people were pissed off and moved to Premiere or other alternatives.
I still like FCP, but many *serious* editors hate it. I guess it depends on your taste. |

I love FCPX. Anyone who bitches about it have usually only used the first version. It can do everything FCP7 does and then some, at this point. I think we're 5 updates in. All the issues people had with it were addressed in the first few updates. But some people had already jumped ship at that point.
If Final Cut 7 was in the $700 range, FCPX is MORE than worth the $299. I'm learning AVID at the moment, and I'm still partial to FCPX. I will use Premiere if it's called for, but FCPX is my go to. |

I just checked Lynda. The latest version they have of Vegas is 6, LOL. Anyone know of more tutorials/training? I use YouTube when I need to learn specific things, but I don't find that to be a proper way of learning the full power of a software.

YouTube videos are great, but the Kelby and Lynda stuff takes from from beginning to end...where most YT videos will cover on specific topic. Just found this for you. I would feel safe spending the money here. The training for my camera was around the same price: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegasseminarseries |

I'm sure you've got an iPad too fris, so this will probably be something you'll dig if you grab FCPX.

lol what are you cutting porn? just buy movie studio platinum suite for 60 bucks, otherwise 300 is a good price for way more than you need for editing

great value at $299 IMHO. Don't see much point in using anything else.

its pretty good. a lot of editors use it and like it.
its just preference. the best? Avid would be at the top pro level...I have used a bunch of them over too many years and as all the programs are the same just have to learn the actions. honestly if your gonna do editing buy an editing keyboard for that particular program. ....thats like 90% of the job. ![]()
