yikes - the Buffalo Bill getting Terrell Owens

my team - losers - epic losers - signing a huge loser.

shocking though if it happens - for an attention whore like TO to sign with a team in such a small media market.

My nephew in law Corey Mace plays for them. I wouldn't put Bills as epic losers, but they probably are now with TO's drama to deal with. Good luck!

I'm in SD and just hope to hell we don't do something stupid like trading away one of the best running backs to ever play the game.

Only one team in NFL history has played in four straight Super Bowls.

Yeah, I know, they lost every one.

But a loser team cannot win four AFC titles in a row.

yeah i am a bit excited actually - the Bills since the days of Kelly, Bruce Smith, Thurman, etc have been a very boring team to follow other than the couple of years Doug Flutie was there and a huge quarterback controversy that lasted years between Flutie and wooden statue Rob Johnson. and a senile 90 year old owner who is pretty much a real life Montgomery Burns - minus the humor.

so TO will at least make the Bills interesting next year.

and i just see now that the deal is official - Terrell Owens signed a one year contract with the Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo has a young quarterback that is very iffy - at times he's looked like he could be a really good QB - other times he looks almost as lost as JP Losman did.

So they had a good program 15 years ago and that means they can't be called a loser?

true and that can't be taken away from them but on the other hand the Bills have been around since the beginning of the AFL and haven't won a Super Bowl and there aren't many franchises that have been around that long that haven't won one - plus i believe they now have the longest streak since their last playoff appearance, 9 years and counting.

No argument, except you used "epic losers" and I think that the bar for that label has been set by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

It's going to suck having to wait until week 5 to see how good the offense really is.

Marshawn will likely sit 4 games.

It can't hurt. We need some sort of spark. Its just a 1 year deal as well so if he screws up and/or the team flops we can say goodbye to both him and Juaron next year.

thought he was going to the raiders? as for buffalo, that stretch of 4 straight super bowls is really amazing. if they would have won just one they would have been considered one the greatest teams ever.

people forget that not only did he cause alot of drama last season again but he also led the NFL in dropped passes - or close to it. hopefully he will come and try to prove he isn't washed up.

Scott Norwood.

1 1/2 feet wide right.

very true, but as a Giants fan I was very happy with that one. But I rooted like hell for them to beat Dallas.

Yeah but that basically makes them like the Pats 2 years ago. 18-0 was awesome, but without the Super Bowl win they're just another 2nd place team.

That was the only one of those Super Bowls that was close. The rest were pretty much blowouts if I remember correctly.
Basically they were the best team in a very weak AFC. That hurts me to say because my Dolphins with Marino couldn't get past Buffalo and into the Super Bowl....but it is what is was....a very weak AFC.

Yep, the same is true of McNabb's Eagles. 5 NFC championship games in 10 years I think....but they have to win at least 1 SB or else they're just another asterisk in the record book.

True dat. My guess before was that T.O. would end up on a team where the coach was on the hot seat. No coach with job security would want that cancer in their locker room. A coach who has to make the playoffs or else is willing to gamble.

Bingo. And as a season ticket holder for the Bills I will take it. Roll the dice. I was really disappointed that they kept Juaron (a coach with a career losing record). This should at least make things interesting. Evans needed someone to take the pressure off him and frankly I am tired of the Bills worrying about character. If it takes idiots to win games I am all for it.

Its our 50th season as well. Should make for some fun.

Well your biggest problem last year was Edwards getting hurt right? Weren't you guys playing really well before that? (like 4-1 to start I think)

That last post reminded me....there's no way this can be Buffalo's worst move ever though....that move came when they went with Rob Johnson over Doug Flutie.

I'll never understand why nobody wanted Flutie....all the guy did was win football games. Just because he didn't fit the mold of what someone thought a QB should be, he got dissed.

Yea after he took the hit to the head in the PHX game he wasn't the same upon return. Its still debatable whether it was him or the play calling (all he did was throw to check down men for the first 4 games after returning).

Not to mention we had to deal with bumbling JP during his absence.

TO makes sense in buffalo for a few reasons. The team is hurting a lil bit in the "money" side of things, it's true, look it up. TO will sell more tickets, TO will sell a lot of merch, having TO will give the Bills a shot at prime time games as well.

The reason Dick J is still the coach there is they can keep him fairly cheap, to bring in someone else would cost a lot of money, new contracts etc.

oh lots of people were behind Flutie - probably more than who were behind Rob Johnson - it was a civil war between Bills fans, never seen anything like it and it happened just as the Net was getting popular, i was a big part of the Flutie/Johnson flamefest on newsgroups and I was right - the Flutie/Johnson war spilled over into New England because of Flutie's New England roots.

the last time the Bills made the playoffs it was Flutie's doing - then the incredible happened, they started Rob Johnson. Time proved how wrong they were about Rob Johnson, completely out of the league not long after his time in Buffalo. He was horrible, another QB stiff out of USC. Leinhart(sp?) won't be much better. And this kid Sanchez who gets drafted this year - same thing.

While this whole Flutie/Johnson thing was going down I was the voice of reason - I wanted them to play Flutie, he was exciting in his sandlot type game way plus he managed to win games even when he was getting balls batted down and not driving the offense that well - he was just a winner. I kept posting before the 2001 Draft that the Bills had two first round picks - one of them should be used to pick Drew Brees - if only they had listened. Flutie could have played a couple of more years and tutored Brees.

Instead it's been almost 10 years of mediocrity and worse at times.
