IE8 Streaming WMV problems

We got a few e-mails from some members that are having issues with their recently updated versions of IE (came in windows update automatically, according to them - vista users)

Basically says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" when you try and stream a .WMV movie in your browser. You can still right-click and save as, and works just fine.

IE8 comes default with windows 7 beta and I tried it out and re-create the issue 100% of the time...IE7 and all other browsers work perfectly. Same issue in protected and non-protected areas, on multiple servers.

Anyone else experiencing this...or know of a fix? Is this just Microsoft being retarded and not being able to stream their own media format? LOL

I tried looking around a little for some information on this, or if it's a known issue or whatever but couldn't find much.

No one else experiencing this issue?

Just heard word from an XP user, and seemed to work ok on IE8 for XP...vista and (the still in beta) windows 7 are borked.

Most people use vista nowadays though right? Due to it being pre-installed on most windows machines on purchase?
