:mad Mainstream affiliate managers are a freaking joke!

I have just got to air this out. Mainstream affiliate managers are a fucking joke. They take forever to answer emails, that's if you can even get a reply from them. The only time they get on your ass is when they think you are doing something against their TOS. Dam, most adult affiliate programs have affiliate managers who get back to you quickly. It amazes me they don't offer better affiliate support. StubHub is one of the worst, and I think they're one of the biggest in the game.

I don't really agree. There's quite a LOT of them out there, and usually I've known only a couple which would make me blow my top like you're doing.

Well you guys must be working with some other programs then me, cause the ones I have dealt with are no where to be found. I have an issue right now with one and have searched all over for a working contact. I even left a message on their forum which is the only recent post on there this year!

No!

Not all of us are worthless I've been a mainstream manager for about 6 programs for years now and have been a member here for quite a while too. Yes, there are plenty of awful managers. Stubhub is in CJ if I remember and a lot of those programs are internally managed by CJ, which I won't go into further. I could probably set you in the right direction depending on verticals you are into for good managers, I know most of them very well.

I've had the same kind of luck in adult, honestly. Just as one example, I once emailed and asked for some FHGs for a promo that was running because there were none available in the webmaster area. The galleries they sent me were all linked with XXXXX's instead of my affiliate number.

So I replied and asked how I could get my code put in, and the response was "I don't know." That was it. Not "I'll get back to you" not "Let me find out." I was so irritated I dropped the program.

lol @ this. It's as easy as cut & pasting it into notepad and then doing a find & replace. Remember that, because most of the time aff managers won't send you FHG's with your own affiliate code.

BTW - some networks focus on whales and if you don't send 50 leads a day they have no reason to talk to you

Either you misunderstood or I didn't explain it well. That's not what the problem was.

edit- I didn't explain it very well. The galleries were like this without any aff code: www.sitename.com/moviegal1

The links within the galleries didn't have my aff. link nor was there any way for me to add it. Therefore, I could not have been credited sales from the galleries.

Considering their typical affiliate I can't say that I blame them too much.

Then what was the problem?

Are you saying he sent you links that looked like this?

http://galleries.asianmoviepass.org/...htm?nats=XXXXX
http://galleries.asianmoviepass.org/...htm?nats=XXXXX
http://galleries.asianmoviepass.org/...htm?nats=XXXXX
http://galleries.asianmoviepass.org/...htm?nats=XXXXX
http://galleries.asianmoviepass.org/...htm?nats=XXXXX

All you do is copy the links and put them into notepad, like this..

Then you do the replace command like this..

Then it will automatically replace all the text with "XXXXX" with your affiliate code in one click.

Ohhh I see, yeah when you said "XXXX's instead of my affiliate number" I got it confused.

I can see how, I didn't explain it well at all. In any case, it ticked me off.

Glad to hear there are some good ones out there. I know I just lumped them all into one rant, but it is amazing how bad most are. Yes StubHub is with CJ now, I wish they didn't join with them, but what are you going to do.

TicketNetwork has a cool affiliate manager, he is johnny on the spot in answering emails. Ticketsnow has a good one also. No I'm not a whale, but I don't send one sale and then bug them on how I can make more money.

Yeah that's pretty ridiculous that an affiliate manager wouldn't know how to properly send you FHG links.

There are a some that would find it hard to even follow the screen caps of replacing "xxxxx"
for a webmaster ID..

Dealing with mainstream AM's is a phone business. I don't have a single mainstream AM that I can't call up during business hours and talk to about whatever I need done, and get it done. You just need to get used to things working a little differently. I think you're probably a little too used to dealing with adult affiliate managers, who are by a long shot more of a joke...
