It's only for 3 days... The loss is a marketing expense, worth it to get affiliates promoting the program that wouldn't normally. Let's say paying the extra $90 per join (normal is $35) costs them $30k this weekend... Well hell, that's a few months of a GFY banner spot, or one show sponsorship... at least this way they actually get affiliates promoting them.
