I've been out of blogging for a bit - I need:

1. A clean, professional design that works with:
2. An easy to use blogging script that gets good SE results.

I've got a pet project I'd like to devote an hour a day to. Thanks for your input.

(Feel free to spam design services that work with your suggested software. Also feel free to tell said spammer why his services suck. This should be win-win-win-win.)

I have yet to see any adult designer come remotely close to designing sites that are as well done as most premium magazine themes.

I would start by looking at them and use them as idea/base models to show off to anyone you plan to use, maybe just have tweaks done to them.

You need nice server nice domain wordpress..clear design
and work work work work..link link link and link...and after few years working you will have blog with 10k uniq per day ;)

Wordpress for sure, it allows you to easily find plugins and the code is very easy to alter to make do what you need.

Alot of the new magazine style themes actually double as CMS's, the Guzel one above qualifies as that, it lets you set out whats displayed on menus and on pages across the site, also check out a theme called "structure" its very customizable and makes a great base for any blog.
