DMCA question regarding linksave.in

This question is for those of you that actually protect your content.

While sending DMCAs to places like Rapidshare, DepositFiles, etc., I've started to notice more and more uploaders using a url masking site called linksave.in. This site makes it nearly impossible to get the true URL of a file hosted on Rapidshare.

Has anyone had any experience dealing with linksave.in, or know of a way to get around their protection to get the true url of where the file is hosted? I've tried getting the Page Info, View Source, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Actually all Linksave.in does is redirect to Rapidshare or any of the other file hosts, and the main reason the uploaders use it is they are banking on you looking for you content on Google searching for "your content" "rapidshare.com/files" and so forth for every file host.

Once you start the download of your content just copy the source url and there you have it. It might come out looking a little different, for instance for Rapidshare it might look like http://rs342tg2.rapidshare.com/files/ followed by a number and the file name, but Rapidshare will accept that for the DMCA and remove the content. Does that make sense?

makes sense...definitely will take a little more time, but worth it.

I just hope more uploaders don't start using sites like that.

Summed up nicely.

For the most part they do it for companies that are known to police the forums and get their content removed. For instance, Score has a reputation on those boards for pulling content down on a daily basis, so often the uploaders will change the name in the title to something like *Sc0re# or something stupid like that to prevent the name "Score" from showing up in a Google search, and then use Linksave instead of Rapidshare, Megaupload, etc because they figure most companies aren't searching for redirect services.

It's a fucking pain in the ass but if you spend a few minutes every day scanning the pornbb's of the world you'll catch on to their bullshit quickly...

yeah I've already started seeing that with our Hush Hush / Shane's World content. There was even a comment from someone talking about how Hush was enforcing copyrights, so at least they are taking notice of my efforts.

I had a lot of catching up to do for our content but since 4/5/09 I've had over 3000 files removed from Rapidshare/Depositfiles sites, torrent sites and tube sites.

The forums have the largest number of files but most of the links are shared across multiple forums by the same uploaders, so if you find 'em on one forum, you get 4-5 for the time of 1.

PornBB.org and PlanetSuzy.org were the biggest so far, but I haven't even started on RealRapTalk.com and a few others that look to be pretty big.
