Just installed Safari 4 Beta on my Mac

So far it's much better then the old one. Lots of cool new features.

Anyone else try it yet?

Yeah, been using it for a few weeks, seems a bit faster and snappier, cool little new features, etc

I actually used Firefox religiously forever, but after installing Safari 4 (and seeing its a bit faster than FF) I am now using this

I've never used a Mac, but i'd like to know are they worth it?

What do they offer you that a PC or Laptop can't?

I know the benefits of using macs for music production because I have been looking into that a look lately because i'm going to be producing something very soon (hopefully)

But as a regular user, what are the benefits?

The only thing I can say is that once you go Mac you won't go back. I was a die hard windows user and now at home I only use Macs. I actually gave away my Dell laptop because I didn't use it for over a year. I have a Mac G5 tower and a 17" PowerBook G4.

I could go on and on why a Mac is better but bottom line.... They just work.

The mail application is great and one of the main reasons I just switched over to OS X. Spotlight searching works really well for finding documents etc. I don't like any of the windows apps for searching (google desktop etc) and there isn't a windows email program that hasn't crashed and corrupted it's database.

Like using the Unix command line - being able to quickly delete all files of a given type IE: rm -rf *.tmp is a real time saver.

Also feel that OS X keeps me safer from viruses and spyware than using windows.

We've had better luck with mac hardware in my company too, the laptops seem to get years out of them, and the best PC ones we're lucky to get 6 months before the screen or motherboard goes bad.

Those are the main reasons for me.

It runs quote nicely on my little Dell netbook with OSX installed.

I can't live without Firefox on my work machines.
