problem with HD video.. vista versus XP....

so to make a long story short, i have a new small netbook from asus, really nice, Atom 1.6 ghz, 2gb ram, nvidia geforce 9300M 256mb. it had vista business and i put back xp pro sp3.. no big issues with that, runs fast BUT now the only issue is HD video playback.

when i had vista on (preinstalled by asus) playback was fine with a massive HD 1920x1080 video, now i put back XP and hd playback looks bad and choppy... does anybody have any ideas? since it's same hardware then it's not a problem of CPU not handling the large bit rate of a HD video.... must be something else.

already installed latest nvidia drivers, bios updates, chipset etc etc..

I recently had a shit ton of problems with a similar issue. It came down to the point I was going to have to reformat. But I decided to try installing this instead:

http://cccp-project.net/

That fixed my video playback problems. If you can't find any other solution, give that a try. It was my last resort before formatting, but it worked.
