:tongue Any cyclists here?

I've noticed that lately a good bunch of self-employed people around me took up sports and are slowly breaking out of that "round" shape. I'd like to think that I am a part of that inspiration since I've been training like a madman and it's starting to show. I am not much of a gym rat but I'm a pretty hardcore cyclist. Actually I am triathlete but cycling it taking up a life of its own, I've been working super hard to break out of Category 5. Also in the process I realized that cycling attracts a very unique type of people, all of them share the same trait - they are some seriously determined and have very high goals.

So, do we have any spandex superheroes here?

I love my bike

Raced road bikes, track bikes, XC mountain bikes, and BMX bikes.

I still race BMX but mostly ride dirt jumps and skate parks with a little downhill if I feel like taking a road trip. But if I'm not working, I'm probably on my bike somewhere.

I gave up the spandex though but it is fun to rip guys on the singletrack while wearing flat pedals and some cargo shorts. But I was roadie so I understand you have no choice so I don't blame you

BTW, you said you want to bust out of cat 5, what do you race? Crits?

If American Football, baseball, and basketball players were tested like that, over half would be in trouble.

I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore cyclist, but I ride my bike a few times a week. I need sports every day, otherwise I'm starting to get weird when sitting day in and day out infront of my workspace

Every bone I've ever broken has been the result of a cycling accident.

What make and model bike do you ride? I just picked up a Pinarello Prince Carbon in yellow. Five of us are heading to Vegas this weekend to do the 132 mile route of the Tour De Fire.

I am in the market to buy a road bike atm, actually heading to the local police auction this weekend to see if I can score a decent one for cheap. Any brands I should keep an eye out for?

Oh my, I remember riding a Harley through the Valley of Fire thinking how awesome it would be to have a bike race there. Putting it on my to-do list for next year.

Nice bikes. Wow. I am riding an old Cramerotti circa 1988 and love blowing by guys with their aero frames. ;) I get riders come up to me and give props for riding an old steel stiffy. I think next year an Argon Gallium is on the list of bikes to buy. That Cervelo is sick!!
I am currently doing the Vancouver to Seattle Conquer Cancer ride and do a couple triathlons each summer.

Spandex rocks!
