I have an old desktop - Want to make media server. How?
How do I turn this desktop into a media server that will house all my music, videos and downloads and all access from every computer in the house (all on wifi).
And how can I allow the other computers to not only access it, but control it? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. ![]() |

It started as the XBOX Media Center, but has grown from there. Now will run on pretty much anything. Easiest way to go about it.

Windows 7 has a super sweet media center built in that allows connections from PS3, PSP, iPod, Xbox, PCs ...... and is totally FREE to try until March 1, 2010.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win.../download.aspx This is actually the first Windows OS that has begun to excite me since Windows 95 ... (but yes I am still a linux man ...) |
