Favorite Bob Dylan Song?

Every music store I went to this weekend was having a big Dylan promotion which made me go home and pull out my collection.

What is your favorite Dylan song?

This is mine. I love the combo of just a good tune and activism:

Not my favorite, but this video is awesome because of all the freaky people. Cool song too though.

The best part is crowd shot between 4:10 and 4:40. lol

I tried to pick a favorite and the best I could do was narrow it down to three:

The entire Blood On The Tracks album is a monster. It's hard to think of many poets or lyricists who can touch the words on that album. And the music on it perfectly brings the stories he's telling to life. On "Jack Of Hearts" you are literally transported back to the old west for instance. The album is a true work of art.

Easily his best album.
My favorties are "Idiot Wind", "Shelter From the Storm","Tangled Up in Blue" and "Simple Twist of Fate."

I second that, "Blood on the Tracks" is probably his best work.

Here is a snippet of lyrics from "Idiot Wind"

"I woke up on the roadside, daydreamin' 'bout the way things sometimes are
Visions of your chestnut mare shoot through my head and are makin' me see stars.
You hurt the ones that I love best and cover up the truth with lies.
One day you'll be in the ditch, flies buzzin' around your eyes,
Blood on your saddle."

Of all the songs of his that I love, Isis is the one that most blew me away on the first listen - especially the unreleased version from the Biograph compilation.

If I'm not mistaken that one was recorded at Le Club Montreal, now The Spectrum, in Montreal.

My favorite Dylan tune is this gem:

"My Voice Sounds Like Nails on a Blackboard and I Stole All My Works From Irish Folk Songs."

It's a real beauty.
