75% of Pakistanis do not want the US in their country. Can you blame them?

I actually will defend this spending.

A few years ago when Israel rolled into part of Lebanon and blew up parts of a city there was something dramatic that happened at the end of it. After the fighting was over there were a lot of people with destroyed homes. Members of Hamas and Hezbollah came up to these and handed them cash to help them rebuild/relocate and told them they would help them get their lives back in order. When they do that who do you think these people are going to then later side with or be faithful to?

We are involved in fighting terrorism and sometimes this means innocent people's homes get destroyed or we run them out of the places they were living. If we do nothing they will hate us and we gain nothing because they will then have more reasons to side with the terrorist. If we at least help them and show them we are not terrible people we might have a chance with them.

The war against terrorism will not be won with a gun. The war will be won with a book and a smile and a handshake. If we can help educate people and show them we are not monsters and help them when they need it and help open their eyes to a different view of the world maybe we can help stop the creation of future terrorist. If we insist on just blowing everything in our path up we will kill terrorist for sure, and we will create just as many new terrorist as we kill.

I would rather see the money go to desperate Pakastani refugees then to see it completely squandered going to payoff the public employees unions in California.

This is just the beginning. We'll be bleeding billions and billions into that region for decades to come.

Honestly after seeing the price tag of our last 2 wars. I have ZERO problems with just sending aid. Hell if we took the dollar amount spent say in Iraq and used say even half of it to pay off the people to help improve their lives, I am pretty damn sure we would have a whole bunch of people really liking us and a very strong economy going on there that would be very pro American. Same could be said of Afghanistan.

Pretty damn sure our enemies "Insert whatever terrorist groups" pretty much use ignorance, lack of educations, poverty, and propaganda to recruit people. Sure they may have the religious angle, then again most can not even read those religious books and well the promise of a better next life or afterlife over their current shit life probably sounds good. Primarily because their current life does suck the huge smegma dick.

Afghanistan is a perfect example of what can happen without aid. We spent a ton of money to help them beach the russians then when the war was over we ignored them. Much of the country was left in ruins and people were homeless and poverty stricken. This makes them desperate and desperation is the breeding grounds for extremism. Along came the Taliban and offered them security so they took it. Along came the drug dealers and offered them money to grow poppies so they took it.

If we had stepped in and helped rebuild the country and made sure people had some kind of future there we might have avoided the the entire problem there. We can't have that happen in Pakistan. There are far more people there and they have nukes.
