if any of you folks need to use htaccess as your mobile detection script (we provide javascript and php code in our tools already), you can use the mod_rewrite approach. Here is a link to an example of someone doing something similar with windows media player in place of mobile (principle and process are the same.)

and on the second count...if people want to do it, and are willing to pay for it...Or, to use a good mainstream metaphor: I fucking hate mushrooms, but if I ran a little grocery store, I'd still sell the damn things to customers, even if they do smell like dirty socks!!!

Seriously, though, mobile sells, and those people who have superior eyesight and money burning a whole in their pockets are hitting up your sites as we speak with their fancy phones, iPods, PSPs, and whatever gizmo or gadget I haven't even heard of yet, why not make some money off of them?
