Are we (or most) expecting too much from Obama?
I mean look at what this guy signed up for.You get so many people being SO critical of every move he makes.some of that is do to his boasting of change but what would your platform be after what weve been put through for the last eight years? i was just reading an article about his trip to egypt and it seems even they want him to make a difference for them,he cant solve everyones problems.now he has to make up for our past mistakes i get that but he's still just one man,one administration. They cannot make all of us happy especially when all these countries want us to make a difference for them.all im sayin is that now if people arent happy Obama isnt doin a good enough job.Love him or hate him he's our President .I don't think we should ride his jock but we shouldn't be overly critical now. Fuck we voted Bush in TWICE.At least this guy can formulate a sentence.I might add that most of the people that bash him voted for Bush(admit it already it was a mistake)or use terms like nigga',nig nog, mook and the likes, looks like some people still need a lesson in diversity. Some may not like that he's black but he's still our president. We have to try and stay behind him,no matter what everyone was stickin behind bush for awhile,we saw where that got us.If we dont find a common ground through our president it will rip the U.S. apart. When other countries are sayin he better not do this or that then at the very least we shouldnt be too critical. Now, i'm not saying i agree with it all,nor should we roll over and die.but we all have to try and find the good in what he does.he has a few more years to go and is getting tremendous pressure from the rest of the world.I am skeptical as well but we cant get to worked up to soon!

Typical of most Obama supporters sadly... They want a different more easy standard get applied to Obama. The media already does this for him. Why don't we just propose some alien and sedition acts and make it official? Americans shall not speak negative about Barak Obama! But seriously, if Obama is so great and Obama has all this ability then why not judge Obama with the same standards we applied to Bush? Surely if he's so smart, so awesome, Obama can measure up to the same standards liberals were applying to Bush.
hxxp://www.usdoj.gov/opa/documents/memo-re-det-auth.pdf Department of Justice link, so if nobody wants to visit a DOJ link then don't copy and paste the link, but in that link the Obama administration defends the indefinite detention without charge or trial captured terrorists. The Obama administration also has said the Geneva Conventions are not judicially enforceable to private individuals in habeas proceedings just like Bush would say. A couple weeks ago Obama demanded the Democrats on the Appropriations Committee strip out benchmarks in a 100 billion dollar war supplemental just like Bush would always demand Congress do. The list could go on and on. So when you have just one standard you apply to all Presidents, you can begin making judgments. Many Obama supporters used to blast those same arguments George W. Bush would make, but today are silent and unwilling to say Obama is wrong in making the same arguments that just a few months ago Obama himself was blasting. |

Were people expecting too much of Bush? Or is it that politicians should be criticized and looked at in a critical light? Was Bush less criticized? Was Clinton? Was Reagan? Was Carter.......................................?
Of course not. |

one defining difference between Obama and others is that he did promise the world to everyone. Hope and Change. Past elections have always been about abortion, gun rights, deficit spending and the typical "go to" issues. This administration chose to be about "hope" and "change" which means something different to every single person who bought into it... so it does make sense that sort of ambiguity would cause a disproportionate amount of dissatisfaction.

Obama was forced to campaign on the hope and change platform since 'doom, gloom and status quo' was already patented and trademarked by Bush and his cronies.
