Have never watched the new series too much. the old ones with Kirk when I was a kid. but not the new ones.

One of that last movies that came out had a huge battle scene that lasted like 15 min, and the Special effects were amazing.

I hate the Star Trek series,

but I really enjoyed the movie.

Perhaps I'm partial to Eric Bana ever since I saw chopper,

but it sucks now that Nero is dead (or so i assume).. too few quality actors going around these days who can play a proper villain.

"not the face, not the fucking face you piece of bitch trash".

The Nero from a future timeline that no longer exists is dead. The new movie timeline is now on a different tangent. It is a future where Kirk's father is dead, Vulcan is gone, and Captain Pike is not a vegtable hooked into a machine that beeps.

The writers pretty much have free reign of re-writing the future without affecting any of the television shows or previous movies.

True, I totally forgot about the future/past tense aspect, was really convenient for the writers. But what are the odds of Nero coming back as a bad guy? Part of the whole reason I was so jazzed about seeing that movie was because of Nero and Eric Bana. Just like the dark knight with Joker and Heath Ledger.

I guess I'm just a sucker for a good villain played by an actor who can actually act. Far too few of them, so I have no idea who could be their next villain and live up to it.
