Affil biz thread. Do you promote vanilla porn paysites charging more than 29.99/mo?

I can't convert them for a darn, never could really, but for some dumb reason I joined some progs that price over 29.99 month. They just don't sell I'm thinking of pulling all links to all of them as a first step to try and optimize my sites.

I'm not talking about hard fetish which still sells ok above 29.99. I'm talking blowjob, ass, anal, cumshot ect (not hard or rare fetish)

And a question for paysites if you care to answer.
Why sell above 29.99 /month? I'm sure your books say you make more. But for the individual affil, you don't sell as well. I'm sorry if this post steps on anyones toes.

Honestly from what I see in my stats, the sites selling are charging no more than maybe 24.95/mo. Price is a BIG factor now days I believe.

What do you think? I prefer to hear from affils as I know everyones paysite is converting just great right now.

Affiliates, do you promote, with success, porn paysites selling over 29.99?

Great point. If I see an old school short tour I shy away. OTOH sometimes they will sell but not that well really as a whole overall.

I think a tour should be as a minimum to sell:

Crisp and clear
Decent length
Have trailers
Have something unique in content
Priced at 29.99 or less (pref 24.95 or less)
X sells (If ya convert, I dont care, I don't think they hurt conversions that bad from what I've seen)

Basicly I see the SAME few sites selling today and alot that don't. The one thing the sellers do have in common? Almost all sell at 24.95 or less/Mo. Obviously this is not a random thing when it goes on for months.

I tried both ways and promote others too, I play with more hits than most here can even imagine, trailers on sites will always produce less joins, even if its the most teasing trailers, some of the biggest sites got rid of them and many started running combo trailers where they have one trailer and they show different clips of the site.

I doubt you tried anything else and your mindset on what works is worng from A-Z

Just about everything I promote has trailers. I decided long back that trailers=good, no trailers= bad and only joined progs with trailers.

I may indeed be shooting myself in the foot with that decision.

I know many fetish progs DON'T have trailers. I didn't join em even tho in my belly I said that content is great. (I have a fetish in three areas which is also where my domains are and traffic is from) so I know content, but I turned my back thinking the trailers converted better.

I tried trailers I have trailers for all my stuff, as we edit movies we edit trailers just in case we might want to use trailers one day for a project.

Think about the avg joe behind the computer in these days:

he came to your site thru google or thru a TGP etc

He is sitting at his computer and has AIM, Yahoo messenger running, most likely he also has some spyware in his machine

He has aol or google email running etc

he has his cell phone next to him

He has a skype account with voip running or vonage

And now hes at your paysite, he sees a 25-45 second trailer (tons of them) he plays one, he proceeds to play next, why? because its there, maybe his computer is not in the mood of playing the flash or wmv file now, people are quick to hit the back button and bamn you lose them.

But lets say its playing fine, so now from when he comes to your trailer filled site till he hits join is 10x longer than if all you had was nice pics proving you have exclusive stuff related to what the site promises.

So why care if it takes 10x longer?

Because the longer it takes the more chances he will get a text message, or a aol email or a yahoo IM or a notice that someone posted on his myspace or hes responding to some twitter crap and bamn he gets sidetracked and you lose him.

How many times did you go online to buy something say to amazon you put it in the cart then a day later you reminded yourself shit I never ended up ordering the item?

Its simply because you got sidetracked and with everyone doing a million things at once in these days it happens all the time.

Keeping it simple while making the surfer comfortable that yes you do have the content you are promising is key.

If you notice I dont use real model names in my tours, guess what will happen if I did? My sales would drop, why? Because surfers will copy and paste the models name google her and find free shit of her or a set on another site they like better and bamn we all lose.

I have noticed that surfers will click what you give em to click (for the most part in general) so yes the more in the way of the join page the worse.

The (misguided) reason I had that trailers were good (and I know this is all in general theory as there are exceptions and things are never cut and dry) was that it showed the surfer what your video quality was and that you had certain videos, a sample if you will, so they know you have something behind the curtain. Now I realize that pics shows them (even better) that their is indeed that content behind the curtain.

I knew I was doing something wrong. And I suspected my trailers idea was flawed lately.

The over 29.99 price. Well one of my 3 top guys in my sig does charge more than that. For vanilla tho I feel still prob not a real good bet. Because (I don't want to name sponsors) there are some good ones charging 23.95 who do convert vanilla.

Of course vanilla is just plain hard to convert so maybe over 29.99 that is a prob for vanilla sponsors.

Anyhow, at least now I have some ammo to judge future prospective sponsors with instead of my other ideas.

So now you have a new challenge... shoot enough photos, the right poses, framed and lit clearly of hot girls not overexposed everywhere and/or that are super hot - blammo - The American Porn dream.
