67% of Republicans want Palin to be "a major national political figure"

I am fucking speachless... So many idiots in this coutry. They want this tool to run the country.

You betcha Sarah Palin is still a viable presidential candidate! Even though the governor of Alaska dropped the bombshell last week that she was leaving her post, a new USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds that her support among Republicans is still strong. In fact, her resignation seems to have even slightly boosted her among GOP constituents.

According to the nationwide poll, close to 67% of Republicans want Palin to be "a major national political figure" in the future. And 71% of them say they would likely vote for her if she ran for president in 2012.

Yeh, I highly doubt that. I would like to see their polling audience.

Republican "voters" are pretty pissed off at the Republican pool across the board. She is overshadowed by an endless amount of drama.

Though dumber things have happened I suppose.

The current Republican party makes up less than 30% of the electorate... so you are talking about roughly 20% of the electorate that think she is a viable candidate. I saw another poll today that said 56% of Independents want her to leave politics altogether.

She is such a toolish douche, so full of two-faced double talk and twisted stories. The only reason she is still news worthy is because everyone loves a train-wreck, and she seems to have an endless supply of trains.

I guess that shows us how much common sense 67% of Republicans have. Not that it was ever a big mystery or anything.

I dunno... seems there's people I respect would vote for her against what I'd think is their common sense...

Seems I'd rather talk someone's religion on this board than their politics, sometimes...

I understand people's feelings about Republican policy vs. Democrats, capitalism and Ayn Rand (whom I admire as a writer), but still...

Seems like a government that taxes less and lets you keep your money until the next war then digs you into a deep hole ain't much better than a government that taxes you now and spends it to keep kids educated and crime down and still maintain a surplus while respecting congress and the wish of the people to stay out of unwarranted foreign wars...

:D

I don't know how this poll got turned into 67% supporting her to be the next President. The poll question was "major national political figure" not next presidential candidate and Rasmussen polls that only 24% would pick her for a presidential candidate. Of course 67% of Republicans would be positive to the phrase national political figure; Palin on the campaign trail is WIN for Republican candidates because she draws big crowds and the kind of people that knock on doors for the candidates she supports.

Sorry, DaddyHalbucks is currently away looking up the meaning of the word reformer (and the word real) while using wiki to build a world class argument.

What she says about America NOT being in DC is true. DC and the Politicians no longer want the same things. They want money and do everything they can to take it. Hard times are hitting the people and the politicians are giving themselves raises.

But she is a tool and the WORST thing that could happen to the US.

Republicans or the right wing who identify as Republicans?

That just doesn't sound right. Most true conservatives (and not just those who are really as far right as can be on social issues but have no real opinion on fiscal matters) would not want someone like her in office. The reality is that she is currently governor of a socialist state, where the government returns oil company profits to the public.

OTH, religious freaks would love to have someone like Palin in office.

Me thinks they did the polling at thefoxnation.com. I go there often to laugh at most of the shit people say. There, no matter the topic, it is ALWAYS Obama's fault. Wake up with a hangnail? Obama's fault. A black person cuts you off in traffic? Obama's fault. A Hispanic cuts you off in traffic? Obama's fault. Your daughter got an abortion? Obama's fault. The huge recession we're in...Obama started it on January 20th. Or so they think.
