Just happened across a CNN archive from Sept 27, 2000. Not that everything was all hunky-dory, but the news did look a bit different back then ...
President Clinton announces another record budget surplus Scroll down, underneath this article is the other top headlines for the day ... Then Gov. Bush and Al Gore were in statistical dead heat with two months to go until the election. "The gender gap has grown again to an astronomical level, with Bush holding a double-digit lead among men and Gore a double-digit lead among women." Found that interesting. What else is good in here ... "Bush says education bill would be first act if elected" "House passes bill to impose new rules on telemarketers" Couple o' gems and some other crap. Enjoy a little walk down memory lane. |
