i went to the wp site and i could not see any info on this.

do you mean other than making a post or page? just add media and then link to it.

definitely save your theme folder esp if you edited any files in it
ive had the theme reset when updating before -_-

Unless you're using the default theme, just upload the new files and you're fine.

You should always backup first though. Database[s] and files.
