What does your account accomplish for $8xx?
I am wondering if I am paying the right amount to my accountant for filing my taxes.
I pay close to $800 for him to file tax in Ontario but all that he does is total the numbers that I provide him on excel sheet, look at expense receipts, file the papers. Something that probably takes no more than 2 hours. Isn't $8xx a bit too much for it? What exactly your account does for $xxx Do you drop off receipts etc every week or month and leave it upto him to sort it out? What else? |

I get mine done here in Sydney for $150, as a business. $800 is a ripoff if you ask me.
Mind you, if he's very cluey and saves you a bundle, it's worth it ![]() |

It is for a corp.
Cluey....hmmmm that depends on the day of reckoning when one is summoned by revenue canada. Thats when I will really know if he is just shotting it in the air or what. But I don't think one should be paying $8xx for just 2 hours of work particularly when all my income and most of the expenses are out of country so he simply adds them up, classifies them and mails the papers. Zero book keeping, zero involvement till last day of the year. So how much are you guys paying for corp. returns and what do you get in return? |

800 sounds like way to much. 150 should be enough depending on volume and sheer amount of work needed.
