Hiding Referrer and Ratios
How many of you either through a double meta refresh or other method remove the referrer information when sending the traffic to a sponsor and have you noticed a difference in sales?
I've got about 3 different hops before the click goes to a sponsor and there is a very slight delay. I was concerned that this 1-2 second delay might have surfers clicking the back button. |

I never understood why people do that to begin with. Nothing anybody does on the internet is unique and requires such ridiculous ways of making sure your sponsors can't figure out how you're making your sales.

a LOT of the cpa networks are ran by, surprise, big time marketers who decided to cut out the middle man. if they see you sending massive signups, a lot of them will gladly gank your shit, find your traffic sources and cut you out of the equation. this is not speculation, i know of guys who actually do this. i blank all my referers passing them through a click tracking script...
the quality of your traffic should speak for itself. as long as you're sending good quality signups, it's none of the networks business where they are coming from. i've only ever had two ams contact me to see why i was doing it. i just tell them that i'll gladly take my traffic elsewhere if they have a problem with it. both times that was the end of the referer discussion... |
