I had to share this, I'm like a proud mom. lol

Meet Bruiser

He's a 3 years old Boxer mix who is super chill and laid back.

His name was Junior but we wanted something more masculine. We adopted him yesterday from the SPCA in Largo and he's such a good boy!
He really likes to stand guard in our backyard

He was only at the pound for a week, so I think he still misses and looks for the owner he had since he was a pup. Apparently he and his girlfriend just had a baby and his gf was freaking out about having such a big dog around.

He seems to be settling in more tho. Anyone with any suggestions on helping him acclimate?

The fucker found his way back 2 days later to my house and shit on my hood of my car

He followed the scent of cologne i guess

Thanks Fuze! I feel bad for him because I noticed at the shelter when we had him in the yard that he was being polite, but he also kept lifting his nose high in the air and sniffing. He did that when we got him back to the house too. I think he was trying to get a whiff of his previous owner.

This morning he was trying to get my attention so I followed him to the kitchen. He stopped by the rack where we keep his leash and wagged his tail looking at me. I asked him, "What do you want?" and he took his nose and pressed it against the leash hook that was hanging. True story!!!!

He seems more confident and happy today. I'm debating if I want to attempt bathing him myself or if I should just take him somewhere. He's a bit ripe from the kennel.

The irony of his masculine name is... when we were thinking of cool, rugged names for him, "Legally Blonde" came on--one of my daughter's favorite movies of all time. Our tough doggy is actually named after the chihuahua in the movie.
