finally got around to putting together video of my car

I know most of you won't care, but I do know there are a few car guys on here.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=pzZIDyU2ZLg

mods are in description. I just wanted to put the clips together and not waste a bunch of time on it, video speaks for itself.

I am pretty sure they don't like me at all. Although I am going to redo the exhaust here in the next few weeks and it should be quiet enough not to rattle walls and wake people up.

I had a Camaro SS, I think it was 2000. What a boat those cars are. C5 Vette's are dirt cheap now, maybe time to consider trading up?

That sounds pretty bad ass man. I'm restoring a 68 Camaro right now and have a 396 big block ready to go in it.

A stock C5 would be a huge step down for me right now, both in power and comfort. Only benefit would be handling, but I don't give a shit about that ;) The car is almost completely set up for going fast in a straight line, the rear and and suspension are the only parts left. To get a C5 to make the power I make, AND take corners would be pretty expensive. I don't have a ton of money into this car.

Thanks Ice. I was going to go the rat route as far as the motor goes, but this was SO cheap I couldn't pass it up. Eventually I want to do a LSX 414" 65 chevelle SS mmmmm

Made 414/386 in HOT ass AZ summer weather, on it's second pass.

What does that mean?

HP / Torque?
Is this rear wheel or?

Yup, horsepower/torque to the wheels, uncorrected. it made 408 I believe the first pass on the dyno the third and fourth pulls were just to set shift points.

It's actually not bad at all. Doing 60-65 in 4th gear it's relatively quiet. Anywhere between 1800-2200 with any sort of load on the motor and it's pretty loud though cruising. And obviously accelerating it is pretty loud.

Really nice car

It looks like a sleeper but the sound gives it away

Just remember to be careful and use that power at the proper place.
This happened last night just a few miles away from me and it's senseless.

Thanks Justin ;) It's definitely a sleeper looking car, hell almost all these cars look the same until you start them up, and it looks the same as a stock car under the hood other than the headers.

It rarely sees over 4500 rpm (converter is a 3800) and I don't think it's been over 100mph other than on the dyno in over a year.

I used to street race a LOT a few years ago, but there's too much to lose now by doing it. Plus I think it's more fun making a night of it and going to the track to watch other cars race and not have to worry about cops showing up. Just grew out of all that.

I did read the article you posted, that sounds pretty shitty. Weird though that a mother would let her daughter and what was presumably her boyfriend race in the car with them in it. Doing 100 in a 45 is ridiculous... plus having driven many of these cars, it's hard to lose control going straight at 100mph unless you're trying, or you have a blowout or something. My car is solid as a rock at 155.
