Does anyone know how to install FMS 3.5 on FreeBSD 7.0 Release?

We ended up switching from FreeBSD to Linux. We were able to get FMS on FreeBSD but it was quirky and I always felt like maybe it wasn't quite "right"

Finally just said fuck it and put linux up and moved on. Kinda weird at first because we have been running our sites on FreeBSD since the beginning of time. lol

Even though I'm a freebsd hardcore user I wouldn't recommend FMS on it. It seems a pain in the ass to setup and it still has some bugs. Just go with some linux distro.

i would ask you host? i am sure they have techs who can help you out??

Sadly I also can't use FreeBSD for many of my projects anymore

Gentoo is crappy alternative(vulnerability checking tool is still experimental.. wtf?!), Arch linux also doesn't seem very secure to run on a server.

I have found Ubuntu Server edition to be a good alternative though.. used to have Debian but since Ubuntu Server is Debian + polishing by Ubuntu Server team then why not choose that?

Thanks for the replies.
I don't have a host, I run dedicated servers and I would hate to put linux just for FMS.
Everything I run is FreeBSD.
This is what I am getting when I try to start.

[root@server1 /usr/local/adobe/fms]# /usr/local/adobe/fms/server restart
getconf: no such configuration parameter `GNU_LIBPTHREAD_VERSION'
/usr/local/adobe/fms/server: ${tmpdir:$...}: Bad substitution
[root@server1 /usr/local/adobe/fms]#

I would atleast like to get it working and test it.
If anyone knows how to fix this issue, please enlighten me

Isn't Debian incompatible with FMS as well?

I recommend CentOS.
