Gov. George Bush established "Texas Death Panels" to kill Grandma...

As much as the Republican loonies are attacking the Obama Health Reform plans, they forget that Ol' George Bush signed into law the "Texas Futile Care Law" that allows hospital corporate-types to overrule families' wishes and pull the plug on Grandma.

Bastards!!

didnt read the article but i dont see why thats such a bad idea. I imagine many families don't have the heart to pull the plug even when their loved one is suffering. obviously a touchy subject , i can see both sides have a good argument.

Here, with gov ran health care, the nut cases are going off saying that the "gov" or "bureaucrats" will become / create a Death Panel giving them the power to decide who dies and lives based off cost of care vs. reward to society.

That would def be a concern, i don't doubt for a second that would happen, but i would think they would have a way for that not too happen ( i.e. death panel doesnt know the financial info about each case )

Well for those that don't have a living will - it makes sense that after the doctors have stated that anyone not having a quality of life, the family should be able to say they want them to die with dignity or with little suffering rather than live the next few months suffering or unaware of anyone

I am making up a living will stating just that

True it is something to worry about... but at least with the Gov enough bitching will bring change. The twist that the crazies ignore though is this panel will be Doctors vs. an employee making that choice for a Corporation for the sake of keeping a job.
