Apple Stock

What do you guys think of aapl for a few month play. I hear they are going to be releasing a new 6 core Mac pro and I feel like their holiday season will go well.

Any others here feel like it has room to go up for a short term 2-4 month play?

The stock is at an all time high in a tough economy. I'm a shareholder but I don't see it going up significantly in the next 2 to 4 months.

BTW I'm no stock expert that's just my feeling.

I agree the fact that it is so high at the moment has me a bit nervous. I wonder if it could split again though?

Anyone have any other good ideas for short term pops?

I had held it for a long time but sold it when it hit the high about 10 days ago. My plan was to buy back in during the dip but now I am thinking otherwise.

I feel that Win7 and PC hardware offers such excellent value right now that it will erode Apple computer sales. The Iphone has slowed it's penetration of foreign markets, so I don't see any miracles there. Apple needs to create a constant and almost miraculous buzz and they are just not doing that right now. They need a new must have toy and fast.

Hmmmm all good points - I think you'll always have your loyal Apple customers.. and with the release of new technology they will still produce nice enough profits.. but as Shoplifter said with the release of Windows 7 that might hinder some stock movement. When the new OS came out for Apple that was great but I'm thinking there has to be something they are working on behind closed doors!

I bought it years back at 16.00 Wish I bought more. I don't think I would buy this high.

The new Mac pro will have the new intel i9 chips and I heard they apple tablet is rumored to be priced well. Also the new imacs are insane.

They have some great products in the pipeline but again the all time high is bothering me too.

How many times has it split since you owned it?

i have bought apple several times and never lost money, on the contrary..
sometimes you have to hold on to them for a while but right now there is no reason why they wouldnt go up to 220 or so.. and i am guessing a split is coming soon.

i am no expert tho..
btw, gold is not bad either and looks to be zooming up to 1300 in no time.

If they do split you will still be able to get in once they announce record date...usually you get a rally all the way up to the date.

If you looking for some month plays, I think Amazon will do well.

Probably more a sell than buy right now.... Oh and when Steve-O dies.. well, consider that the bubble bursting. If you want to go long on something, go long on Gold... that shit just doesn't stop going up... $1,200 an ounce and it still going up $10-20 a day. Bloody hell!

Couldn't say where the stock is going to be in 2 - 4 months, but I can tell you that if Steve Jobs remains with Apple, the stock will go to $300 eventually. However, if he leaves or dies, it's going below $100.

Most people were in a panic this time last year... in stocks Warren Buffet´s "Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful" keeps proving itself (on long enough timeline that is - daytrading, pennystocking have different rules)

Still disappointed for not buying before the ipod was released. This was like 7 years ago when it was in the $20 range.

I think if you hold your position in any stock over night you are taking a risk. If I had enough $$ to day trade, I wouldn't be doing this. I know a guy who makes 200 a day day trading 20 minutes a day. APPL is VERY volatile.
