Anybody have a problem with TDBank?
I just had $175 dollars in $35 fees stolen in one of my accounts. Some withdraws and various other things over the past 4 days and then had one check clear.
They charged me $35 5 times for transactions that occurred prior. A check cleared and went over by less then $5 and they stuck the check to the top and just stole $175 from my account. TD Bank, TDBANK, TD bank rip off Anybody have an experience like this? |

because I know there formula's. this is not new, isolated, or just my concern. It is a big fuckin deal... and
TD bank, Td bank ripoff, banking with TDbank... They are stealing money. It is a huge deal... that is why I am posting it. I'm not just talking about fee's that bounced on a particular day and get charged the $35. I am talking they will actually move a charge that cleared the day prior to the next day if it will optimize their $35 dollar bounce fees. This is what is going on... |

All banks are super aggressive with fees these days. I keep a very comfortable cushion in all of my accounts so I don't have to worry about how my banks decide to clear checks or count deposits.

TDbank ( usa ) changes name and terms more often then the cleanest woman changes panties.
They are thieves, but opening a US account today for a non resident is difficult .. so I keep them like I kept a bad wife ... I was using their debit card on some domains from gadaddy . I forgot that the domains were set to auro renew ... Godaddy processed the chjarge of 135.00 ( remember : debit card ) . There was 130.00 in the account ... They passed the charge ( they should hsave declined the charge ). Then they chargged a 35.00 NSF charge Then, every 5 days that you are overdraft ( lol.. a debit card .. ) they charge 35.00 fees . Since it is not an account I use often, I do not check it ( like epassorte, I do not know how much I have the - roughly 100$ ). Tdbank fees for that 5.00 so called overdraft totaled 240.00 ... good ROI for them. 2 months ago, they started chargging 15.00 monthly fees ( that is an account I do no checks, nor di I use much ) . I deposited 800.00 , just to prevent that 15$ monthly fees bring me overdraft, starting the penalties fees of 35$ every 5 days . When they were TD Waterhouse or TD bank USA they were OK, but today they are thieves with a license . ![]()

I don't have a problem with TD Bank. I have a savings account there right now, and no problems. My Bank of Montreal, and Royal Bank accounts are fine too - no problems. Paypal - no problems. Epassporte - no problems. Cash on hand accounts - no problems.

remember banks use a interbank exchange rate when it comes to that. and you are responsible if the variance causes the check to bounce. btw

They move charges, in my case actually moved charges from the 24th and showed as cleared on the 27th and got an additional $70 by doing so. I thought First Union was bad but TD Bank actually alters your numbers in their favor to maximize their $35 fees. Meaning they bump the numbers (maximum up top) and in my case moved charges that normally would have cleared on the 25th (1 day after purchase) to the 27th. Also, I deposited 2 checks into another account I have with them and cleared on the same day checks were cashed. The deposited numbers were the biggest numbers, HOWEVER, in this case they did not give credit to those deposits and this account was charged $70 (a 2.99 godaddy fee for something and a $17 convenience store) The lowest transactions for the day. See what I'm saying?? They say they move the highest transactions to the top FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE yet when the highest transactions are deposits they ignore them and will charge and ass rape you $35 again, and again, and again!! |

canadian banks are a cartel of thieves with every politician in their hip pocket. just look at the spread on currency exchange - that shouldn't even be legal. 'hey here's 100 US dollars please buy it from me' 'ok sir here's 104 Canadian dollars' 'thanks' guy right behind you 'i'm going shopping across the border please sell me the 100 US dollars that guy just sold you' 'alrighty that will be 109 dollars' - usurious is the word.

The law is about to change on this. While a bad check may still go thru you will soon be able to tell you bank to decline debit card transactions that will overdraw your acct.

A few years ago TD did the same thing to me, I $400 in cash on a Friday morning, then went mall wandering, bought coffees/sodas/etc. Ended up with like a $20 charge and a bunch of $2 charges.
I had like $15 in my account, and they never deposited my cash, they charged the $20 first, then all the small charges, and I ended up with like $500+ in overdraft fees for about $36 in charges. After a few hours on the phone arguing with them about how my cash should have been immediately available, they decided to reverse all my fees as a "one time customer service" thing. I also had another problem a few months ago, where my hosting bill was going to go through on the 25th, I was going to deposit money on the 24th, but they decided to "test" the charge on the 23rd to see if I would have funds available on the 25th, which resulted in 2 overdraft fees for $35 each. Now I just make ure I have more than enough cash in the bank at all times, even if I have to make my car payment a few days late or something, but it feels like they are holding the money hostage since I don't ever dare to use it =) |

Does anyone recall the Toronto Dominion Green Machine commercials from back in the .... late 70's or early 80's. I still have the tune in my head ... <singing> Toronto Dominion .. Beep Beep.
The bit of research that I have done on adult entertainment business banking in Canada seems to have flagged CIBC as an industry favourite. Does anyone here use CIBC for business banking? I tried RBC about two years ago -- Opened an account with no problem, and then went in a few days later to make a deposit and the teller looked confused and asked if I would have a seat while she got the manager who then proceeded to tell me that my account had been closed by their security department because of "money laundering concerns". I was rather annoyed and demanded an explanation of just what "money laundering concerns" was she referring to. She was extremely evasive and uncomfortable, and then finally said quietly, "We don't deal with your type of business." Needless to say, I demanded that she tell me, out loud, just what "type" of business she was referring to, but she just walked away. Whether this was a one off, and/or a mistake on the part of the bank, I have no idea. Others with the same "type" of business as mine seem to have no problem with RBC. I, on the other hand, will never patronize them again for business or personal banking. |
