![]() I hate driving down to blockbuster to rent a movie. They have a very limited selection of bluray movies and I'm always disappointed when the one I wanted to see is out (don't know why I would think it would be in).
VOD, TiVo, Vudu, Apple TV and the rest never seem to have the same movies to rent as blockbuster does. For instance, I wanted to see the movie "Extract" but its been out since the day it was released from BB (some asshole never returned it and they only have 1 copy on bluray). The rest you can't rent it until 1/21/10, but why the 4 week wait if blockbuster has it? Makes no sense IMO. This is not a movie I am going to buy, so why don't they just release it for rent right away instead of pushing back the date hoping I am going to say "fuck it" and just pay $35 for a bluray copy? I would much rather see something like it costing $1 or $2 more when it first comes out, then drops down a few bucks after the first few weeks. I just got a Vudu box and this thing is amazing. My dad has it and quality is the same as bluray (if you get HDX). Otherwise, their HD is great and better than what you can get on VOD and Apple TV. Just a shame IMO to have all this great technology but still have to rely on blockbuster for the movie to be out. I normally don't rent standard DVDs because I forked out all the cash to buy higher end technology and seems like a waste to toss in a non-hd movie

whats the point? they are in shit quality and even if you can get bluray type quality would take 3-4 days to download... might as well just wait for it in the mail from blockbuster

ok, well maybe not that long, but would take a WHILE to download a 20-30GB bluray quality movie. otherwise you are just downloading DVD or almost DVD quality, which is shit.
